Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday May 3rd 2004 "Who would have ever thought the three of us would be having breakfast together again?" Starlene asked glancing back and forth between her sister Tiffany and her ex-husband Skeeter as they sat in the living room of Tiffany's Bleecker Street apartment. "It does feel like old times back in Georgia," Skeeter said blowing on his hot coffee loudly before taking a sip. "Yeah, except we're eating bagels now instead of grits," Tiffany added in her southern accent as she picked up her cup from the coffee table. "I'm glad we're here in New York though," Starlene said as her cell phone rang. "I bet that's Marco calling." She opened the tiny phone and quickly said "Hello honey." "Hi Starlene! I'm so glad to finally get you on the phone. I want to see you," Stanley said. "I don't know Stanley. I've been really busy," she said rolling her eyes for the benefit of Skeeter and Tiffany. She heard Skeeter whisper "I've got to get to work," as he walked towards the front door to leave and Tiffany followed him. "What have you been doing Starlene?" Stanley asked as his limo driver stopped at a red light on 7th Avenue. "Oh looking for a job," she said thinking it was a half-truth. "A job?" he gasped. "Yeah, why not?" "But honey you don't need to work. I'll take care of you." "Stanley we aren't married and I have to think about my future," she said bored with herself and the same old lines she had threatened him with for a year. "But I've been doing a lot of thinking Starlene. Maybe it's time," Stanley said as he pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and tabbed the perspiration from his forehead. "You've said that for years now Stanley," she said leaning back on the sofa as she watched Tiffany kiss Skeeter goodbye and close the front door. "I want to come over and talk to you Starlene." "I don't know Stanley. Why don't we meet somewhere?" she said worried that Marco, her new lover and neighbor would see Stanley coming into the apartment. "I'm in the neighborhood and I want to stop by honey. I've got a present for you. Didn't Tiffany tell you?" "Yeah, what is it?" "I want to surprise you. I can be there in five minutes," he said waving at his limo driver to keep going south towards Bleecker Street. "I don't know," she said hesitating as she watched Tiffany pick up her purse to get ready to leave for work. "Five minutes is all it will take for me to get there," Stanley said. "Okay. I guess so," Starlene said. "But I'm not all dressed yet. I just got up," she said as she ran her fingers through her long blonde hair. "That sounds good to me honey," Stanley said realizing how much he had missed her since she moved out of his Upper East Side mansion. "Okay, I'll see you soon Stanley," she said hanging up the phone. "I heard that," Tiffany said. "I guess he's on his way over?" "Yeah, I want to see what kind of present he got me," Starlene said. "What if Marco comes by the door while Stanley's here?" Tiffany asked. "I hope I will have opened the present by then," Starlene said jumping up to run into the bedroom and throw on her jeans before he arrived. "You mean if the present is nice enough then you might stay with Stanley instead of Marco?" Tiffany asked following her to the bedroom door. "Well, you never know. Do you?" Starlene said as she struggled to zip the tight low cut jeans. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
