Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday April 28th 2004 "Wow you look nice," Tiffany said as she watched Starlene walk into the living room dressed in a low cut sweater and short skirt. "Thanks, do you think it shows off my figure enough?" Starlene asked in her southern accent as she turned to model. "I'd say. Who are you going out with tonight, Stanley or Marco?" "Marco," she answered as the phone rang on the coffee table. "I'll get it," Tiffany said as she reached for the phone. "Hello," she answered. "Hi Tiffany. Is Starlene home?" Stanley asked. "Let me see if she's still here Stanley," Tiffany said glancing towards Starlene for a cue. Starlene shook her head no. "No she isn't here. I thought maybe she was still here, I just checked her bedroom. I guess she went out for a while." "Oh. I really want to see her Tiffany. I tried calling but I only got the answering machine." "I'm sorry Stanley. I'll tell her to call you when I see her." "I've got the present I want to give her," he said leaning back in his office chair in the Empire State Building. "I'll tell her Stanley." "I've made some decisions too," he said referring to the ultimatum she had given him about marriage. "Have you decided to get married?" Tiffany asked glancing at Starlene and seeing she had her full attention now. "I think so. I mean I've never been this close since my wife died years ago," he said. "Wow. I'll tell her you said that if you want me to." "You can. I hope I haven't waited too long or anything like that." "I don't guess so," Tiffany said. "I hope not. I really love her. Well, thanks Tiffany. Just tell her I love her and to call me soon. I want to give her this gift and talk about our future," he said. "I'll do it. Bye," Tiffany said hanging up the phone. "Starlene I think he's ready." "Do you really?" she asked putting her hands on her hips. "Yeah. I mean I think moving out of his house was the right thing to do. He's worried about losing you now. He knows he's got to make a decision if he's going to keep you." "Now I don't know," Starlene said thoughtfully. "You really like Marco that much?" "I like him a lot. He's really better looking than Stanley. I mean he's a little younger and very interesting." "What are you going to do?" "I'm not going to worry about it now. I'm going to go meet Marco and have some fun," she said reaching for her purse. "Meet him? You mean he's not stopping by to pick you up?" "No, he's working late tonight and wants me to meet him at a restaurant" "So you're having dinner with him?" Tiffany said. "Dinner and then he's already said he got us a room for the night at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel." "Why would he get a room at the Waldorf when he lives right upstairs in this building?" Tiffany asked frowning. "Because he said he wants to show me all of the finer things in New York and he says the Waldorf is where the President and royalty stay and he wants to 'treat me like a queen'", she said grinning broadly. "I don't know Starlene," Tiffany said shaking her head. "Something doesn't sound right here." "Of course it's right. He's going to introduce me to some of the TV people and I'll soon get my own program on TV. You just watch," she said resentfully as she walked towards the front door to leave. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
