Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday April 27th 2004 "Tell me what happened last night", Starlene asked glancing at her sister Tiffany as they sat on the sofa of the Bleecker Street apartment. "I told Stanley not to stop by here. I told him. I can't believe he came by anyway," she said referring to her older lover that she had broken up with. "I was standing at the window watching you get into the cab to go out to dinner with Marco," Tiffany said remembering the scene from last night as Starlene went on her first date with Marco a man she had just met. "Oh no. Don't tell me Stanley saw me with Marco," Starlene said covering her mouth with her hand. "No. But I thought so for a minute. Because I was standing there watching," Tiffany said nodding towards the living room window. "I watched you and Marco getting into the cab and then I saw a long white limo pulling up right behind you. I thought Stanley had seen you," Tiffany said. "Oh thank goodness he didn't. That was close," Starlene said. "Closer than you know. Anyway, Stanley came in and he had a present for you," "What was it?" "I don't know. I lied to him and told him that I didn't know when you'd be home. Anyway we were sitting here talking when we heard a knock on the front door. I got up and went to the door. I looked through the peephole and saw Skeeter standing in the hall. I was going to try and open the door just a little bit and warn him that Stanley was here. He blurts out something about 'I'm in the mood for love, Baby. Your place or mine?'" "Stanley heard him?" "No. Thank goodness Stanley's getting older Starlene. He didn't hear him. He heard a man's voice that's all. I whispered out of the door that Stanley was here and Skeeter left. I came back in the living room and waited for the next shoe to drop when Stanley said 'who was that'?" "So I lied again and told him it was a delivery man." "Oh wow. What close calls, one right after another," Starlene said. "Yes. I don't think I can live like this," Tiffany said. "I'm sorry. I told Stanley not to come by." "Well what's the next step with Marco?" Tiffany asked. "I hope he'll call me for dinner tonight," Starlene said. "So this is it? You're going to start seeing him and dump Stanley?" "Maybe, I mean he's certainly good looking, got money and everything was really great last night," she said rolling her eyes to infer intimacy. "Wow and just think... Stanley was worried that he's too old for you but Marco is older too," Tiffany said. "Yeah, he's in his sixties." "Has he ever been married?" Tiffany asked. "He was married but they aren't together anymore," Starlene said remembering his words. "Where does his ex-wife live?" "I don't know. Since he lives in California most of the time, I guess she lives there," Starlene said wondering. "Well, he seems like a nice guy." "Yeah and I asked him about getting me on TV since he scouts talent." "Oh yeah. What did he say?" "He said he'd see how things go with us and that it might take some time. That's one of the reasons I decided to go to the Plaza Hotel when he asked me. It couldn't hurt anything you know? I mean he has something to offer," Starlene said twisting a strand of her long blonde hair around her finger as she thought about her future. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
