Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday April 22nd 2004 "Look Stanley, it doesn't suit for you to come over tonight," Starlene said in a quiet voice as she listened to the voices in the living room. She could hear her sister Tiffany talking to Marco. "You aren't going out with somebody, are you?" he asked as his driver stopped the long white car at a traffic light in Times Square. "No, nothing like that Stanley. Look I left you and we agreed to take time out to think everything over," she said in a whisper hoping Marco wouldn't hear her conversation. "Why are you whispering?" Stanley asked. "Because Tiffany has company in the other room." "She didn't tell me she was expecting company when she answered the phone a few minutes ago," he said starting to worry. "Well, maybe someone just dropped by or something. I don't know. I guess I better go find out. Call me tomorrow okay?" she said. "Okay honey. Be a good girl, okay?" "Sure," she said hanging up the phone. She glanced at her reflection in the mirror on her bedroom wall. She brushed her fingers through her long blonde hair and adjusted the top of the low cut dress to show more cleavage. She opened her bedroom door and walked slowly into the living room as her stiletto heels sounded loudly on the hardwood floors. "There she is now," Tiffany said smiling as Marco got up from the sofa to greet Starlene. "Hi Starlene. Don't you look great," he said smiling as he admired her voluptuous bosom in the low cut short black dress she was wearing. "Thank you Marco. I guess you met my sister Tiffany?" she said in her southern accent. "Yes, Tiffany and I were just talking. It's like a double treat to meet two southern ladies. It's very refreshing," he said as Starlene picked up her purse to leave. "You two have a good time tonight," Tiffany said as they walked towards the front door to leave. "Are you sure you won't join us?" Marco asked. "Oh no. I have some things to do here tonight. Enjoy!" Tiffany said as Marco turned his back to her to open the door. Starlene glanced back at Tiffany raising her eyebrows as if to ask… what do you think? Tiffany nodded her head and smiled. "See ya later," Starlene said as they walked out into the hallway. Tiffany closed the door and locked it. She walked back towards the window in the living room. She glanced down as she watched Marco putting his arm around Starlene as they walked towards the curb. He waved his hand at passing taxis. She saw Starlene laughing and talking as Marco continued to wave at cabs that were filled with passengers. Tiffany squinted into the sunlight as she saw a white limo heading towards the apartment building. She knew Stanley had called Starlene from his limo just before Marco arrived tonight. She wondered if Starlene had convinced him not to stop by. She saw a cab pull to the curb and Marco opened the door. Starlene slid inside and Marco followed her pulling the door closed. The cab made it's way into the traffic on Bleecker Street as the limo pulled up to the curb behind it. Tiffany watched as the door to the limo opened and Stanley got out of the car. She saw him saying something to the driver then slamming the door. Tiffany's heart raced as she realized Stanley was on his way to her apartment. She could only hope he hadn't seen Starlene getting into the cab with Marco. She saw the gift box in Stanley's hand. Her mind raced as to what she could say to him. Then he was out of sight as he opened the door to her building. She took a deep breath and tried to think of what she would say when she heard the knock on her front door. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
