Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday April 15th 2004 Tiffany reached for the ringing telephone on her desk. "Manhattan Party Planning," she answered. "Hey Baby," Skeeter said. "Skeeter that was a horrible scene this morning," Tiffany said referring to his wife Jan confronting her on the sidewalk as she walked to work. "Man, Baby. I'm so sorry." "Skeeter this can't happen. I can't be put in the middle of you and Jan like this." "I won't let you be in the middle Baby," he said in his sexiest voice. "This was my fear when you opened the lingerie store below my apartment. Then when you left Jan and moved into the apartment next to mine… I told you Skeeter. I told you that I didn't want trouble," she said feeling tears coming to her eyes. "There won't be any trouble Baby. Jan just came by this morning. She was all angry because her old man stayed with Starlene at your apartment last night," he said referring to Jan's father that was dating Tiffany's sister. "I know. I know that Skeeter." "Well, of course Stanley went rushing out to tell Jan that I lived next door to you. When she found out, she hit the ceiling," he said in his slow southern accent. "Yes, but Skeeter this is exactly what I didn't want to happen. You said you had left her." "I have," he said. "She seems to think it isn't over. We never should have... " she hesitated as she choked on tears thinking about the intimacy they had shared. "Just that once Baby. I'll never forget it either," he said remembering the hours they had spent in her apartment. The next time he was with her she had denied him, saying she wanted to wait until he was divorced before they shared any further intimacies. "That's why I stopped it too Skeeter. See it's just not right. You're still married to her," Tiffany said struggling between pain and jealousy. "See how mean she is Baby? I left her but she just won't give it up." "Skeeter I can't be put in the middle. I have a lot on my plate right now," she said thinking about Amir and how he'd recently come back to New York. "I'm sorry Baby. It won't happen again," he said. "I sure hope not," she said glancing up to see Nicole walking down the stairs. "No it won't. I talked to her and told her she has to give me the divorce." "You should only get a divorce if that's what you want Skeeter," she said. Nicole paused when she heard Skeeter's name mentioned. She and Skeeter had just renewed their affair last week. She had missed seeing Skeeter for months as she kept a low profile while her mob boss father had been in town. Once he left she had called Skeeter eager to renew their affair. She took a seat on the sofa nearby and pretended to be reading the papers she had brought downstairs to put into the copy machine. "I do want a divorce Tiffany. I told you I only married her because I thought you were going to marry Amir," he repeated. "Skeeter I know that's what you said, but still the fact is you're married," Tiffany said in a hushed voice glancing up to see Nicole pretending to be looking down at the papers on her lap. "I won't be married to her long. I insisted today that she get the divorce. I want you Baby. I've always loved you Tiffany," he said. "That's nice to hear, but I can't be in the middle of your divorce." "Why don't you come over to my apartment tonight and we'll talk it over?" he said hopefully. "I don't think that would be a good idea. It's just too risky." "No it's not. She doesn't have a key," he said hoping to get her alone with him once again. "No. I don't think so." "Oh please Baby. I really need to be with you now, more than ever," he said in his sexiest voice. "I'll let you know. I've got work to do now." "Okay Baby, I'll watch for you when you come home tonight," he said. "Okay," she said hanging up the phone. Nicole got up and walked towards Tiffany's desk. "So that was Skeeter huh?" she asked raising her eyebrows.. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
