It's not her fault," Skeeter said as he followed her towards the front of his lingerie store on Bleecker Street. He watched as his wife Jan pushed the glass door open and quickly walked out onto the sidewalk. He rushed out behind her. "Jan you come back here!" he called out as he saw his first wife Tiffany walking towards MacDougal Street in the distance. Jan glanced back and motioned for him to go back into the store. She quickly picked up her step. "Tiffany," she called out. Tiffany heard her name called. She had seen Jan inside the lingerie store through the window as she walked past. She could tell by the expression on Skeeter's face that he was arguing with his wife. She had planned to stop in and see if Skeeter wanted to go for coffee. She spotted Jan in the back of the store and quickly walked by hoping there wouldn't be a confrontation. "Tiffany", she heard Jan calling in the distance. She turned to see Jan rushing towards her dressed in an expensive designer suit and high heels. She saw Skeeter close behind her. She decided she might as well face the situation head on, so she stopped and waited for Jan to catch up. "Tiffany," Jan repeated as she got closer. "Yes, Jan." "Tiffany I want the truth right now," Jan said as she stopped in front of her on the sidewalk. "About what Jan?" "Are you seeing my husband?" she asked as Skeeter quickly approached the two women. "Why are you asking me this? Skeeter's right there," Tiffany said as Skeeter reached Jan's side. "I wanted to hear what you have to say," Jan said glancing towards Skeeter then turning her attention back to Tiffany. Tiffany glanced at Skeeter and he winked at her quickly looking back down at his shoes when he sensed Jan was turning to look at him. "Yes, I've been seeing Skeeter," Tiffany said as Skeeter quickly looked up in disbelief and stared at her. "Oh! So you are trying to get him back," Jan said. "Jan I suppose you're referring to the fact that Skeeter moved into an apartment next to mine." "Of course. What do you think I'm talking about," Jan snapped. "You're the one that is doing the accusing here Jan. You asked me if I've been seeing Skeeter and I answered you. I see Skeeter frequently when one of us comes in or out of the apartment... the answer is yes," Tiffany said as she watched Skeeter take a deep breath. "I mean are you trying to break up my marriage?" Jan asked frowning. "Like you broke up my marriage?" "I can see you aren't going to tell me the truth. I'm not going to stand here and take this from you," Jan said. "Skeeter, come with me," she said reaching for his arm. "Why?" he asked pulling away. "I want you to come with me and we'll go home," she said. "I'm not going Jan." "I'm not going to stand out here in public and be humiliated by her," she said sneering at Tiffany as NYU students rushed by on their way to class. "Then go. I think you're the one that is humiliating yourself Jan," he said glancing at Tiffany as she turned and started to walk away. "It's now or never Skeeter," Jan demanded. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
