Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday April 13th 2004 "Look Jan I don't know what else to say about this. I've told you everything there is to say. I took the apartment upstairs because it's in the same building with my lingerie store. The price was right and we were fighting. I had to have a place to live. It didn't have anything to do with Tiffany living next door," Skeeter said referring to his first wife that has the apartment next to his. "I hate her. You know I just hate her," Jan said frowning referring to his ex-wife. "She's never done anything to you." "You're defending her. Why are you defending her?" "I'm not. It's just not her fault and you shouldn't be dragging her into our problems." "Skeeter we didn't have any problems until you did that billboard in Times Square," she said referring to the underwear billboard that he'd modeled for. "My billboard didn't cause the problems either." "What can we do to get our marriage back together?" "I don't know that we can." "Come on Skeeter. Why can't we work this out?" "You lied to me Jan." "I lied to you?" she asked raising her eyebrows in disbelief as she remembered the many times she had tried to believe the unbelievable from him. "You said you were getting the house deeded to me and you didn't. You've been holding that over my head." "I'm still working on it, but you have to live with me. You have to be my husband. Why would I give you the house if you don't even want to live with me?" "I've tried Jan. I've tried and tried," he said as he took his second cigarette from the pack and lit it. "I can't believe you see it that way." "Well I do. I'm sick of your jealousy, leading me on and holding the house over my head. If you want to treat me like your husband then do it. Don't keep this BS up," he said frowning. "Okay. If you move back in and leave that apartment upstairs then I will." "Oh no. We aren't going to go through all this again. Either you do or you don't. I'm not going to be led on anymore," he said taking a long puff on his cigarette. "You're impossible Skeeter," she said staring at him. "No. I just don't like being treated like a kid or something. I married you and you lied to me about the finances." "I'll talk to Father," she said picking up her purse to leave. "That's another thing. I'm sick of your old man too. I don't like him butting into my marriage." "I'll let you know what I can do," she said turning to leave. She stopped and turned back to look at him. "Skeeter if you ever want us to have a marriage you have to move out of that apartment. You have to get away from Tiffany," she said with a look of pleading in her eyes. "I tried. The ball's in your court now Jan." "I'll call you," she said walking towards the front door. She stopped when she saw Tiffany walking out of the front door of the building and past the window of the store. "Don't you dare say anything to her," he snapped as he quickly walked towards the front of the store. "I've tried too, Skeeter," she said picking up her step as she opened the front door and walked out onto the sidewalk with her eyes fixed on Tiffany. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
