Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday April 12th 2004
Tiffany walked out of her bedroom towards the kitchen of her apartment overlooking Bleecker Street.
"Morning Tiffany," Starlene said from her seat on the barstool in the kitchen as she rubbed her eyes and sipped her coffee.
"Hi Starlene.  I ran into Stanley on the way in this morning," she said referring to her sister's older boyfriend that spent the night.
"Yeah, he came over not long after I talked to you on the phone at Amir's house," she said referring to Tiffany's wealthy lover that she'd stayed with last night.
"So is Stanley upset that you've left him?" Tiffany asked as she took a mug from the cabinet and poured herself a cup of coffee.
"Oh yeah.  He was really upset.  He wanted me to move back. I told him he would have to agree to a wedding date before I'd come back."
"Will he?"
"He's going to talk to Jan and let me know soon," she said.
"I hope it works out for you."
"What happened with you and Amir?"
"We talked and talked."
"Did you find out anymore about this security problem and the ties to terrorist groups he was talking about?" Starlene asked repeating some of the information Tiffany had whispered to her over the phone while Amir was in the bathroom last night.
"He says that he was investigated because of this guy he hired as his security."
"Well what did the guy do?"
"That's the part he won't say or he doesn't know.  I tried and tried to get more out of him.  He just said the guy was being investigated for possible terrorist ties and because he worked for Amir they investigated him too."
"So do you think Amir's a terrorist?"
"No!  Of course not."
"Are you sure Tiffany?  I mean he is a foreigner."
"He got his citizenship a couple of years ago."
"That doesn't mean anything. He's really rich and he travels a lot.  I don't know." Starlene said frowning.
"No. I don't believe for a minute that Amir has anything to do with that kind of stuff."
"Okay," Starlene said shrugging her shoulders.
"Well, I don't Starlene."
"Then why did he stay gone for months because they were investigating him? Why didn't he come back to New York?  Why did he stay on his island like he was hiding from them?"
"Because the security person he hired that is under suspicion lives on his island and worked in his mansion over there as well as in New York."
"He couldn't have told you that on the phone?"
"Well, that's what I was upset about too," Tiffany admitted.
"What did he say?"
"Wire taps.  Stuff like that."
"Oh boy.  What are you going to do?"
"I don't know."
"Did the two of you do it last night?"
"No."
"Are you kidding?  You stayed there all night in the hotel with him and you didn't do it?"
"That's right.  We talked for hours.  Besides you told me on the phone that Stanley was coming over here to talk with you so I thought you might need some privacy."
"Yeah. Thanks for that Tiffany.  I think I'll like living with you," Starlene said taking a sip from her coffee.
"You think you'll live here long?" Tiffany asked.
