Skeeter asked as he watched his estranged wife frowning at him as they stood in the back of his lingerie store on Bleecker Street. "I came here to ask you what you've been up to Skeeter Diamond?" she snapped as she put her hands on her hips and glared at him. "I'm working. I run this lingerie store, remember?" "I know you're running this sleazy place. That's not why I'm here Skeeter and I think you know that." "Well I guess you better fill me in," he said thinking her Father Stanley had probably reported seeing him coming out of the apartment upstairs next door to his first wife Tiffany. "Where are you living these days Skeeter?" "I have an apartment on a short term lease." "Upstairs next door to Tiffany?" she asked glancing up in disgust. "Yes." "When were you going to tell me this?" "I don't know. Why is it a problem for you?" "Well of course it's a problem. It was bad enough that you signed a lease on this store in the same building with her apartment. Now you have to move into an apartment right next door. It looks like to me you're doing everything you can to get as close to her as possible." "That's not true." "Oh, it's not. Then why did you move in next door to her?" "Because we were fighting. I had to have a place to live." "I never asked you to leave my house Skeeter. You left." "I can't live under all this pressure Jan. The landlord made me a really good deal on this apartment since I already have a lease on the store. There wasn't anything else available and we were fighting. I don't have the money you have to just buy an apartment." "Are you seeing Tiffany?" "No," he lied. "Are you sure Skeeter?" "Yes. Why would I see Tiffany again? I divorced her once. I married you didn't I?" he asked as his eyes narrowed. "I don't trust her. I've never trusted her," she said as she started to pace the floor of the lingerie store. "Tiffany didn't know I signed the lease on the apartment until after I moved in," he said watching her pace in front of the rack of thongs. "Oh! So you have talked to Tiffany," she snapped as she stopped pacing and stood in front of him. "She saw me moving stuff in and opened her door." "So you have been talking to her?" "Look Jan I'm not going to put up with this. You come in here accusing me of everything under the sun and it's all your fault I signed the lease on that apartment," he said picking up a cigarette from the desk and lighting it. "My fault! How can this be my fault?" "You're the one that promised to have the house deeded to me and you didn't," he snapped. "I said I would if you moved back in and we were living together as a married couple." "I came over many nights and all you did was string me along. Promises, promises that's all I got from you. If you wanted to give me the house, then you had your opportunity. I waited and then I had to have a place to live when you never showed me the deed," he said before taking another drag on his cigarette. "You didn't tell me you had signed a lease on an apartment next to Tiffany's." "You hadn't kept your end of the bargain Jan." "Well what do you want me to do? If I get the deed to the house put in your name will you leave this apartment?" CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
