Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday March 22nd 2004 Skeeter put the bottle of wine he was carrying under his arm and hit the buzzer on the outside of the building on Bleecker Street. He glanced up and down the street hoping that Tiffany wouldn't see him standing at the entrance to the apartment building. He hit the buzzer again for apartment #13 and glanced down at his watch. He was only a few minutes early and wondered why Nicole was late meeting him when he heard her voice in the distance. "Skeeter!" she called out as she rushed towards the building. He smiled broadly watching her dark hair bouncing as she walked towards him in the short mini skirt. "Hey Baby," he said as she smiled at him. "Sorry I'm late. Clark came in right after we hung up and he had a million questions about some dumb party I'd planned for him," she said referring to her husband as she opened her purse and started to search for the keys to her apartment. "I thought you'd given up this apartment," he said referring to the apartment she had before she married Clark. "Nope. He wanted me to but I didn't. My Father stays here sometimes when he comes to town," she said referring to her mob boss father in Florida. "Oh," Skeeter said glancing around nervously to be sure no one familiar was watching them. "I've missed you Skeeter. This being good is boring me to death," she said as she rummaged through her purse. "Can't you find the key?" "No. I thought it was in this part of the purse," she said unzipping a side pocket and taking out lip-gloss. "You better hurry up Nicole somebody might see us," he said as she handed him the lip-gloss to hold. "I'm trying. Hey! I've been meaning to tell you I saw that underwear billboard of you in Times Square," she said glancing up at him with a broad smile on her face. "Yeah?" "Man oh man Skeeter. That's what made me decide to call you. I saw what I was missing and couldn't take it anymore," she said shaking her head and laughing. "Yeah, I guess that was my fifteen minutes of fame. I thought I'd be doing more of them, but I think they picked another guy for the next one," he said still smarting over the slight. "Well, damn. I don't see the key anywhere," she said starting to search through her wallet. "We can't just stand out here like this. Somebody might see us. Did you put the key in your purse or not?" he asked starting to get annoyed with her irresponsibility. "Yes. I put it in my purse. I know I did. And besides, what are you so worried about?" she asked frowning. They both turned when they heard a woman calling Skeeter's name from the other side of the street. "Skeeter!" the woman yelled as they turned to look. "Oh no," Skeeter said under his breath. "Who's that?" Nicole said as her fingers searched through the bottom of her purse filled with make up and shopping receipts. "Skeeter what are you doing here?" Amanda asked as she walked up beside the couple at the entrance to the apartment building. "Oh nothing much. Are you on your way home Amanda?" Skeeter asked. He noticed his openly gay sales clerk looking Nicole over from head to toe. "Going over to the bar for a drink. Who is your friend?" She asked as Nicole glanced up from her purse smiling. "Bingo Skeeter! I found the key," Nicole said. "Oh this is Nicole. I just ran into her on my way uptown," Skeeter lied. "I see," Amanda said knowingly as she stared at the lip-gloss he was holding in one hand and the bottle of wine in the other. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
