She leaned back on the sofa in her Bleecker Street apartment. "So that was Amir?" Starlene asked after overhearing their brief conversation. "Yes." "What did he say?" Starlene asked noticing that Tiffany's face was white and drained. "He said he loves me." "Oh boy!" Starlene said grinning. Tiffany had just finished telling her that she and her ex-husband Skeeter were really interested in getting back together after his divorce from Jan. "Oh Starlene. I don't know what to do," Tiffany said leaning forward and putting her head in her hands. "Well tell me what he said." "He said he wants to see me again," she said leaning back on the sofa. "Where is he?" "He's on his island but he says he's leaving soon to come back to the states. He says something 'came up' that detained him and that's why he didn't call." "It's been a long time Tiffany. Was the something that came up... the woman we saw him on the news with on New Year's Eve?" "I don't know. He didn't go into all of that. He only said he loved me and he wanted nothing more than to be with me." "Well see him then," Starlene said watching her sister closely. "Yeah. I guess so. I mean Skeeter and I aren't married or anything." "Nope. And this gives you time to decide which man you really love." "Yeah, I guess so." "Which one do you love?" Starlene asked as she watched Tiffany. "I love Skeeter. I've always loved Skeeter, but Amir," she said stopping. "What about Amir? The money?" "Well, that was nice. I mean Skeeter and I didn't have two dimes to rub together when we were married," she admitted as she thought about their marriage back in Lillard Georgia. "Well, I'll be Tiffany," Starlene said smiling broadly. "What?" "You're in a good position finally. I mean now you have both men wanting you and you can make the decision. This is great." "We'll see," Tiffany said as the phone rang again. "Hello," Tiffany answered. "Baby I miss you," Skeeter said. "Me too," she said almost in a whisper. "You sure we have to wait until Jan and I get the divorce? I mean what if she won't give me a divorce?" he asked as he leaned back on the sofa in the marketing companies office uptown. "We have to wait. I just can't live with it any other way," Tiffany said getting up from the sofa and walking towards the window with her phone. "Man this is killing me. I want you so bad Tiffany." "Are you sure you love me though?" she asked thinking about Amir and her upcoming decision. "I've always loved you Baby. I never once for a minute quit loving you," he said. "Are you in the store?" she asked glancing down on the sidewalk of Bleecker Street and seeing his salesgirl Amanda opening the door to his lingerie store. "No, I'm uptown at the marketing company this morning. I came in to pick up my check for the modeling and see what the next job will be," he said as he saw the secretary walking towards him. "Call me when you're finished okay?" she asked. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
