Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday March 12th 2004 Skeeter unlocked the door to his apartment and held it open watching his ex-wife Tiffany as she walked into his new apartment overlooking Bleecker Street. "You haven't unpacked all of these boxes," she said looking around at the living room of his apartment next door to hers. At first she had been resentful that he took an apartment next to hers but that quickly changed to a new romance. "Nope. I just pull out what I need," he said walking to the sofa and taking a seat. He patted the sofa cushion for her to take a seat beside him. "What did you think of that article in the tabloids yesterday with the picture of me and Starlene in the limo?" she asked smiling. She and Starlene had gone to Times Square after seeing him on the local news. The newscasters had spotted Skeeter on Broadway signing autographs for teenage girls under his new billboard modeling underwear. Skeeter had asked that Tiffany and Starlene get in his hired limo and that they all go somewhere and have lunch together to celebrate. "Oh that was great. A photographer told me to rent a limo when I went to see the billboard. He said limos always get you noticed. He was certainly right about that," Skeeter said as he put his arm around her. "Did Jan see the picture?" she asked referring to his current wife. "Yeah, she saw it," he said remembering how he'd told her if she didn't trust him that he'd leave her. "I guess she didn't care since the two of you are separated." "It bothered her but what can she do?" "Skeeter do you love Jan?" "No. I care about her, but I don't think I ever loved her." "Then why did you marry her?"' "Tiffany we've been though all of that. I told you that you were with Amir and I thought the two of you would get married. So I married Jan." "I just don't understand though. If that's what you thought why wouldn't you wait and see if I did marry him?" "You two were always together and you seemed head over heels in love to me," he said remembering how jealous he had been. "What happened with him Tiffany?" "I don't know." "Come on, it's only fair that you tell me." "Well his wife died, you know that?" she asked watching him closely. "Yeah, I read that in the newspaper. I thought the two of you would get married right after I saw that," he said. "Oh I don't want to talk about it," she said remembering the pain. "Why not? You asked me all about Jan. You bring it up all of the time. How do I know that you aren't still in love with him?" "I'm not," she said wondering if that was the truth. "Well, what happened?" "I started seeing Brandon Douglas," she admitted. "That rich Broadway theater owner?" "Yeah." "I met him. He came into "Next to Nothing" once," he said remembering the day that Brandon bought the lingerie in his store downstairs. "Yes. I remember that too." "He was filthy rich. I thought you might have married him," Skeeter said. "No. He was arrogant," she admitted. "Maybe all of the people with a lot of money are arrogant. It never seems to work out for me," she said. "Why? Tiffany are you looking to marry a man with money?" he asked. "No not really. It just seems more people in Manhattan have money I guess." "Does that mean you don't like men with money?" "I don't think about that Skeeter. It's what's in the heart that matters to me," she said honestly. "Good. Cause I've made some money doing that billboard and I know where my heart is," he said pulling her closer to him as their lips met. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
