Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday March 5th 2004 Starlene glanced around the living room at Skeeter and Tiffany and noticed they were both watching her talk on her cell phone. "Well, I don't know Stanley. I think Tiffany is ready for bed," she said referring to his question about picking her up at her sister's apartment in a few minutes. "I'll just grab a cab home tonight," she said. She glanced towards Skeeter and saw him visibly relax after overhearing her tell his father-in-law not to come to his ex-wife Tiffany's apartment tonight. "I'll be there soon honey," she said hanging up the phone. "He's not coming. I'll leave now so you and Skeeter can be alone," she said glancing at her sister before grabbing her purse and getting up from the sofa. "I can't stay Starlene," Skeeter said starting to walk towards the door. "I told him not to come by Skeeter," Starlene said. "No, I can't stay I have to meet with my marketing agent uptown," Skeeter lied. He thought about the fact he'd promised Jan he'd come home tonight after working late at his lingerie store. She was supposed to be arranging to have her mansion put into his name if he would agree to stay in the marriage. "Okay, then we can take a cab together," she suggested. "Well, I don't know," he hesitated as he glanced towards Tiffany and the clinging silk robe she was wearing. "I'll stay here a few more minutes and talk to your sister," he said as he slid his arm around Tiffany's waist. "I might tell that marketing guy I'll see him tomorrow," he said as he smelled the familiar perfume she was wearing. "Okay, see you guys later," Starlene said picking up her jacket and walking towards the front door. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do," she said grinning before she opened the front door of the apartment. She walked out into the hallway and closed the door behind her. "She's a trip," Skeeter said as he and Tiffany took a seat on the sofa. "I hope Stanley marries her. I worry about her future. She hasn't worked since she's been in New York," Tiffany said. "She did that modeling in Playbody," Skeeter said remembering the luscious pictures of his former sister-in-law. "That's not work." "Yes it is. Believe me it took hours to do that photo shoot of me for the billboard," he said referring to his new underwear billboard in Times Square. "I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking about that," she said laughing. "Can you believe I'm in Times Square Baby?" he said as they leaned back on the sofa together. "No. I can't. I can't believe a lot of things that have happened." "It ain't all been bad. Has it?" he asked as his fingers touched her leg where her silk robe had fallen open in the front. "No, it's not all bad," she said pretending not to notice his hands on her bare leg. "It could get a lot better too, you know?" he said as he watched her closely. "I don't know Skeeter," she said remembering her vow to herself that she would fight the temptation after so many lonely nights. "It's up to you Tiffany." "Why do you say that?" "Because it is." "Skeeter you're a married man." "Tiffany I never would have married Jan if I thought I had a chance with you." "Skeeter do you mean that?" she asked studying his handsome face. "I sure do. I've always loved you." "What about the other women though?" "What other women Baby?" he asked pretending to be innocent. "Oh like Lola and some other girl I saw you with on the sidewalk out there one morning. I think she was a musician or something," she said referring to Cynthia. "Oh, I know who you're talking about. I was just helping her out with some business arrangements," he lied remembering their many heated sessions in the past. "What about Nicole?" "Nicole? She's married to Clark," he said referring to her boss and his wife. "There have been a lot of women Skeeter." "If I'd been with as many women as you think... I would be exhausted," he said laughing. "Remember Brenda?" she asked referring to her best friend in Georgia that had broken up her marriage to him. "Boy you're really diggin' Baby. All that stuff is over now. It was all a misunderstanding Tiffany." "Is that what you understand it to be Skeeter?" "Yes." "Then what am I to understand about us then?" she asked earnestly. "That I've never loved anyone but you... And that I'll never love anyone but you," he said pulling her closer to him as their lips met. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
