Starlene asked as she glanced towards her sister. "No, I've had enough," Tiffany said putting her box of Chinese food on the coffee table and getting up to walk towards the window to look out on Bleecker Street below. "I wonder what Stanley and Jan are talking about tonight?" Tiffany asked glancing back at her sister. "Business. Who knows with the two of them," Starlene said as she picked up her napkin and wiped her fingertips. They heard a knock on the door and Tiffany quickly walked towards the front of the apartment and looked out of the peephole. "It's Skeeter," she said smiling before opening the door. "Hey Baby," he said walking into the living room as Tiffany closed the door. "Hi Skeeter," Starlene said. "We were just having Chinese for dinner. Want some?" she said pointing towards the boxes on the coffee table. "No. I've got stuff over there in the refrigerator that's going to go bad soon if I don't eat it," he lied thinking about the empty refrigerator in his apartment. "Are you spending a lot of time there Skeeter?" Tiffany asked watching him take a seat in the chair near Starlene. "Not as much as I want. I've been so busy with the store and the advertising campaign," he said referring to his underwear-modeling job. "I didn't even hear you come in last night Skeeter," Tiffany said as she took a seat on the sofa beside her sister. "I'm quiet. I don't want to disturb my neighbors," he said thinking about the long night he'd spent in his wife Jan's mansion. "Oh, I thought maybe you spent the night somewhere else," Tiffany said. "You aren't checking on me are you Baby?" he asked frowning. "No. Why would I?" "I didn't think so," he lied. "I won't be here as much as I thought," he said leaning back on the sofa. "How's that Skeeter?" Tiffany asked watching him closely. "One of my new business associates has an apartment on the Upper East Side. I'll be in meetings a lot and I might spend some nights uptown," he lied as he took a wonton from the box on the coffee table. "Gee I never thought of you as a workaholic," Tiffany said. "I'm a new man Tiffany. This is a lot of work, running a successful store and modeling too," he said as he chewed loudly on the wonton. Starlene's cell phone rang in her purse and she quickly took it out and answered "Hello". "Hi Honey. Are you having a nice time with your sister?" Stanley asked. "Yeah Stanley. We're having a good time," she said noticing that Skeeter turned to watch her when he heard his Stanley's name mentioned. "I'm at Jan's house. I'm leaving now. We've finished our business for the evening," he said. "You were doing business?" she asked. "Yeah, it seems that Jan and Skeeter are back together again. I had to help her out with a few legal matters." "Oh I bet you aren't too happy about that, are you?" she asked noticing that Tiffany was watching her too. "It won't last. I know Skeeter. He's a playboy. I'm just making sure he can't play Jan for a complete fool. If I ever get rid of him I want to be sure he doesn't get a damn thing of hers," he said. "I see. Does she know that?" "Of course. Don't say anything honey. You're almost family now. We have to keep certain things close." "Of course," she said thinking that he was planning to give in and marry her soon. "I'm leaving soon. I'll drop by and pick you up. I haven't seen Tiffany's new apartment yet." CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
