Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday February 24th 2004 Skeeter glanced up when the door to his lingerie store "Next to Nothing" opened. He was surprised to see his estranged wife Jan walk in wearing her full-length mink coat. "Skeeter darling," she said smiling sweetly as she glanced around the store at the flimsy lingerie. "Jan what brings you over here?" he asked getting up and walking towards her. "Just visiting," she said taking off her coat. She tossed the mink over a chair and started to look through the lingerie. "I know you aren't shopping," he said eyeing her as she pretended to be interested in the risqué lingerie. "Do you like this one?" she asked holding up a sheer leopard print thong in front of her. "Not on you, Jan," he said. "Want me to try it on?" she asked glancing around for the dressing room. "Jan what are you doing?" he asked taking the thong from her and hanging it back on the rack. "Visiting my husband." "Ex-husband," he said. "We're not divorced." "You said if I posed for that underwear billboard that you would divorce me. Well, I posed for it. You'll see me in Times Square next week," he said proudly. "I was wrong about that Skeeter. I can't let that ruin my marriage," she said swallowing hard. "It's too late Jan. I know you don't approve of my life," he said glancing around the store. "Where's Amanda?" she asked referring to the gay salesgirl she'd hired to keep an eye on him. "I let her have the day off". "Oh, I'll deduct that from her salary," she said. "No you won't. If you do she'll expect me to pay her for it." "Well, it seems I don't have any say in her employment," Jan snapped. "Fine, then I'll fire her," he said thinking of the stack of applications he'd taken from good-looking women. "Don't be hasty. I was wrong. If you want to give her the day off, it's okay." "Gee I really need you coming in here telling me how to run my business." "I said I was wrong." "Yes you were as usual Jan," he said hoping that would annoy her enough that she'd leave. "I didn't come here to fight with you Skeeter." "What did you come here for?" "To ask you to come home where you belong," she said. "Home?" "Yes with me where you belong." "That's your home Jan. Not mine". "I consider it your home too Skeeter." "Then put it in my name," he said grinning. "Would that make you come home to me?" "Maybe," he said surprised that she might consider such an offer. "Where are you living Skeeter?" "Just a place around here," he said not wanting her to know he'd leased a apartment next door to his ex-wife Tiffany. "Is it as nice as our home darling?" she said walking towards him and brushing his dark hair from his eyes. "No," he said as she put her arms around his waist and pressed her body into his. "I've missed you terribly Skeeter. Why don't you come over for dinner tonight? Ilona will cook your favorites," she said referring to her housekeeper. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
