Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday February 17th 2004 Tiffany followed her ex-husband Skeeter into his new apartment next door to hers on Bleecker Street. "It's a nice place. All I need," he said watching her step around a few boxes of his clothes as she walked around in the empty apartment. "You don't have a bed." "No I got this today," he said pointing to a box containing an inflatable bed. "Just until I can get a bed delivered." "Oh. So you going to buy furniture and everything?" "Well, sure. I got a good deal on the apartment and besides I have to have a place to live," he said as they walked towards the front window and stood together looking down on Bleecker Street below. "I wish you hadn't done this Skeeter," she said. "Come on Baby. It won't be that bad," he said grinning as his eyes feasted on the white cut off T-shirt she was wearing with nothing on under it. "Of all the apartments in New York City. I can't believe you end up moving in beside me." "I told you Baby. I got a good deal because I have a lease on the store downstairs." "That seems unfair though. I mean you running a risqué lingerie store under my apartment was hard enough... but now you'll be sleeping right next to me," she said noticing that his bedroom wall was next to her bedroom wall. "It won't be so bad. I mean maybe it will be fun." "Fun?"" "It could be. I mean if you want it to be." "Skeeter we are a divorced couple. You're married to a woman that hates me and I don't like her either." "I won't be married to Jan much longer though." "So you'll be having wild parties and bringing women up here," she said unable to stop her feelings of jealousy. "No," he lied. "What about Lola? I saw you bring her into the basement a few nights ago," she said referring to the celebrity whose photo had appeared in the tabloids with him leaving the lobby of a midtown hotel together. "Oh that's just business Baby. I was talking to Lola about business," he lied. "Really?" she asked wanting to believe him. "Yeah. I hope to do some business with her that's all." "Oh. Then how is your business down there?" she asked referring to his lingerie store 'Next to Nothing', below her apartment. "It's great. But I have other plans too." "I see," she said as he took a step closer to her. "Look over there," he said pointing to a couple kissing in the foyer of an apartment building across the street. "Yeah, I see them," she said laughing as they watched the man push the girl into the wall as they passionately kissed in the dimly lit hallway. "How's your love life Baby?" "What love life?" she asked shrugging her shoulders. "You aren't dating Amir anymore?" "No, he's been on his island for some time now", she said referring to his island off the coast of Tonga. "What about that other guy, Mr. Broadway," he asked referring to Brandon Douglas the Broadway theater owner. "He turned out to be a jerk," Tiffany said grimacing. "Maybe this was meant to be," Skeeter said as he slid his arm around her waist of the low cut jeans that she was wearing. His warm hands caressed the soft skin on her firm hips as his eyes feasted on the tight white cut-off T-shirt she was wearing. "I don't think we should get carried away Skeeter," she said as she avoided looking him in the eye for fear he would see the undeniable yearning she felt at his familiar touch. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
