Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday February 10th 2004 Skeeter walked into his lingerie store 'Next to Nothing'. He locked the front door and took off his jacket tossing it on the back of a chair. He quickly walked towards the back of the store. He had arrived early to clean up any tell-tale signs of his rendezvous with Lola last night. He glanced at the coffee table and saw the bottle of Bourbon. He quickly picked it up and walked towards the file cabinet opening the drawer to hide it when he heard the back door of the store close. He turned to see his salesgirl Amanda walking into the back of the store from the garden. "Amanda! You scared the hell out of me," he said quickly closing the file cabinet drawer. "Sorry man," she said taking off her motorcycle jacket and tossing it on a chair. "What the hell are you doing here so early?" "I just wanted to get started on marking down those thongs for you," she lied. "What were you doing out in the garden?" "Checking out the door downstairs," she said grinning slightly. "Why?" "I've noticed you going out to smoke a lot and I wondered if you ever went downstairs?" "Aren't you the nosey one?" "Why is that nosey Skeeter?" "Because, that's not your job," he said wondering if he'd locked the door to his secret hideaway last night after he and Lola left. "Well, I just wondered. You know there's a basement down there?" she asked watching him closely. "Really?" he asked. "Yeah, there's a little window over there on the other side near the bushes," she said. "So?" He said having never been aware of a window in the basement. "I saw a sofa down there and everything." "Amanda I don't pay you to snoop around in the garden. I pay you to work," Skeeter said starting to worry. "I've wanted to talk to you about my salary now that you bring it up," she said. "You'll have to talk to Jan. I don't do the payroll." "I just wanted to see if maybe I could get a raise. You know I work weekends and I cover for you." "Like I said, talk to Jan," he said as he plugged in the coffeepot. "Then I really work for Jan don't I?" "I guess if you want to be technical about it." "Okay, I'll ask Jan for a raise. She said she'd call me today," Amanda said as she picked up a pen and started marking down the price tags on the thongs. "When did you talk to Jan?" "Oh she called me last night and asked me to run by the store and let her in," she said. "You came by the store last night with Jan?" he asked turning to stare at her. "Yeah. Did you know you forgot to leave the lights on bright in here when you locked up? You get mad at me if I forget Skeeter." "Did Jan come into the store?" he asked. "Yeah, she said you didn't come home and she thought maybe you were angry with her and had stayed here. I couldn't believe your wife doesn't have a key to the store," Amanda said turning to see him watching her. "That's right, she doesn't" he said wondering if Amanda and Jan had spied on him last night as he and Lola shared passion on the sofa in the basement. "Anyway, that's it," Amanda said placing her red pen on a table as she smiled broadly. "The thongs are all marked down. They're really cheap now. I bet we sell them all. As a matter of fact I've got a feeling this place is going to be jumping today," she said grinning as she watched him nervously lighting a cigarette. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
