Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday February 5th 2004 "It's me," Starlene said as she opened the door to Tiffany's apartment on Bleecker Street. "Come on in," Tiffany said as she turned off the teakettle on the stove in her kitchen and poured two cups of tea. "I saw the 'closed' sign on the window of "Next to Nothing", when I came in," Starlene said referring to Tiffany's ex-husband's lingerie store beneath Tiffany's apartment on Bleecker Street. "Are the lights still on in the store?" Tiffany asked turning to see Starlene walking into the kitchen of her apartment. "The lights are turned down really low and the windows are all steamed up," Starlene said laughing. "Do you think Skeeter and Lola are in the store doing it?" Tiffany asked. "I don't know. That store only has that one red velvet sofa in it and that's near the front window of the store," Starlene said knowingly. "I wish we could see in there. I'd love to know," Tiffany said as she stirred sweetener into the hot tea on the counter in her kitchen. "I hate Lola. I really do Tiffany. Just because she dated my Stanley she thinks she can talk down to me," Starlene said walking towards the kitchen sink to stand beside her sister. "Look," Tiffany said dropping the spoon into the sink as she looked out of the back window. "What?" Starlene asked bending closer to the window to look down as the light from the back door of the lingerie store illuminated the garden below. "See in the garden?" Tiffany said as she pointed into the shadows. "Oh look!" Starlene said as the two women watched Skeeter and Lola walking out into the garden. "Look at that hussy wrapped in a white mink coat," Starlene said as the coat opened in the front and the light shone on Lola. "Look at that low cut sweater she's wearing. She's trying to show it all off. Isn't she? She's such a hussy," Starlene said. Tiffany nodded and glanced at the low cut sweater her sister was wearing and decided not to say anything. "Look at Skeeter putting his arm around her. "They're kissing," Starlene said as they watched the couple stop at the basement door and embrace. "I hate him," Tiffany said watching her ex-husband passionately kiss the famous celebrity. "Does that bother you seeing your ex kiss another woman?" Starlene asked. "You know it shouldn't... but it does. I hate admitting that. I think I still love him," Tiffany said wiping the condensation off the window so they could see the couple more clearly. "You're just lonely now because you and Amir broke up again," Starlene said. "No. I don't think I've ever gotten over him. As miserable as he is. I just don't understand him or... look they're going into the basement together," Tiffany said. "They'll be doing it in a few minutes," Starlene said knowingly. "How do you know?" "Well, I didn't want to tell you but Skeeter showed me the basement," Starlene said. "What's down there?" Tiffany asked surprised. "A sofa that pulls out into a bed. Plenty of heat and lots of booze too," Starlene said remembering the scene. "Oh Skeeter's little hideaway love nest," Tiffany said. The phone rang in Starlene's purse and she quickly walked to the kitchen bar and took it out of her purse. "Hello," she answered. "Hi honey, I'm finished with my dinner meeting. Want me to bring anything home to you," Stanley asked. "No Stanley. I'm not home honey. I'm over at Tiffany's apartment," she said as the two sisters smiled at each other. "What are the two of you doing?" Stanley asked. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
