Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday February 4th 2004 "Well, it looks like Skeeter was doing more than shielding Lola from the press when they were photographed a few weeks ago," Tiffany said into the telephone as she talked to her sister Starlene. She was watching the celebrity Lola from her living room window overlooking Bleecker Street. A long white limo was parked at the curb in front of Tiffany's ex-husband Skeeter's lingerie store directly beneath Tiffany's apartment. Skeeter had lied to his wife Jan telling her he had been protecting Lola from the press when the two were photographed leaving the lobby of a midtown hotel.". "I just can't stand her," Starlene said remembering how Lola had seemed to enjoy running into her and her lover Stanley at the Blue Note Jazz Club the other night. "Well, I'll be," Tiffany said in her southern accent. "What? What?" "Skeeter just opened the door to his lingerie store and she went inside," Tiffany said as the limo left the curb. "Oh wow, so she and Skeeter are really hitting it off these days." "Well you told me that he said they did do it when they were together in the hotel." "That's what he told me." "You would think he'd be afraid that Jan would catch him," Tiffany said referring to Skeeter's wife and Stanley's daughter. "Can you see anything now?" Starlene asked. "No. I'm going to run down the stairs and see if the store is still open," Tiffany said walking to her front door and opening it. "Stay on the phone with me. I can't wait to find out," Starlene said listening to the sounds of Tiffany's front door closing. She heard the sounds of Tiffany's footsteps on the stairs as she raced down towards the front door of the apartment building on street level. "I'm walking out of the door now. I'm just going to peek around the corner into the store window and see... oh yes", Tiffany said. "What?" "The 'closed' sign is turned over on the door of Skeeter's lingerie store," Tiffany said peeping into the window of "Next to Nothing". "Do you see them in the store?" "Yes, I see them. Wait," Tiffany, said jumping back as Lola glanced her way. "Did they see you looking?" "No. I'll look again," Tiffany said taking a step forward as she noticed people walking by on the sidewalk looking at her. "It's really cold out here," she said staring through the window of the lingerie store. "What do you see?" "They are in the back of the store and he's pouring Bourbon into paper cups. She's got her mink off and she's wearing a low cut sweater and tight pants," Tiffany said. "They're toasting drinks with their paper cups," Tiffany reported. "I have to run back upstairs it's too cold out here," Tiffany said opening the front door of her building and racing back up the stairs. "Can you believe that hussy?" Starlene said as she listened to the sound of Tiffany's footsteps going up the stairs. "Oh yes. I can believe it. She's single though Starlene. He's a married man. I wonder if Jan knows where he is tonight," Tiffany said as she reached the floor of her apartment and put the key in the door. "I don't think so. You know Jan was so furious when the picture came out in the tabloid that she wanted to divorce him. I think she calmed down and took stock of her situation though. She called Stanley the other day and told him she thought she might really love him." Starlene said. "Thought she might love her husband," Tiffany said surprised by such a weird remark. "Yeah, he said Jan didn't date much before Skeeter and he thought she'd never find a husband. He said Jan is so cold, it's really remarkable that she's finally in love." "With Skeeter... what bad luck," Tiffany said remembering how much she had loved him when they were married years ago in Lillard, Georgia. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
