Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday February 3rd 2004 Tiffany picked up the ringing phone on the coffee table in her apartment on Bleecker Street. "Hello," she answered. "Hey there Tiffany," her sister Starlene said. "Hi, how's it going?" "Okay. Stanley's at one of his dumb dinner meetings tonight," she said referring to her wealthy lover. "Well, at least you have a boyfriend," Tiffany said feeling sorry for herself. "Did Amir call?" Starlene asked referring to Tiffany's lover that left for his island just before New Year's Eve and was seen on TV with a beautiful young woman. "Yea, he called." "Where is he?" "Still on his island." "You did ask him about the reports on TV?" "Yes we talked about it," Tiffany said as her voice cracked in pain. "What did he say?" "He said it was true that he was with that woman on New Year's Eve." "Oh wow. I thought maybe it was all innocent and the press was just blowing it up or something." "No. He said he started seeing her right after that dinner party Stanley gave you." "On no. You mean when he came to the party and you were there with Brandon Douglas as your date." "Oh yes. That wonderful evening I'll never be able to forget," Tiffany said remembering the embarrassing situation that was caused by her boss's wife Nicole. Nicole purposely invited both men hoping to ruin Tiffany's love life. "Did you explain it to him again, how that happened?" "Starlene I had been seeing Brandon and that's the truth. What can I say? It's all my fault," Tiffany said sniffling and dabbing her eyes with the back of her sleeve. "Oh honey I'm sorry. Is it serious, this thing with Amir and that woman?" "He says it isn't. He says she's too young for him." "Like you really wanted to hear that," Starlene said. "He says he'll be back in New York soon. I asked him if he'd lied to me when he said he had to rush home to his island because of business. He said that was the truth," Tiffany said as she got up from the sofa and walked towards the window of her living room to look down at Bleecker Street below. "Is that girl coming to New York with him?" "Oh gee, I didn't think to ask him that Starlene. Oh Lordy I hope not," Tiffany said as she pressed her face closer to the living room window. "Well I'll be," Tiffany said her voice filled with shock. "Well, maybe he won't bring her," Starlene said. "No, it's not that. You wouldn't believe what I see out of the window," Tiffany said. "What?" "It's Lola Rogers getting out of the back of a long white limo in front of my building." "Oh wow. What's she doing? I can't stand that hussy. When Stanley and I saw her the other night at the Blue Note Jazz Club she was so condescending towards me. She thinks she's hot stuff just because her mother is a famous singer and she dated my Stanley at one time." "Oh I think she is hot stuff tonight Starlene," Tiffany said. CONTINUED TOMORROW.
