Top right picture you see the Empire State Building as seen from a rooftop in Greenwich Village. When completed in 1931, the Empire State building was the tallest skyscraper in the world for four decades.

Frank Woolworth the owner of five and ten cent stores paid $13.5 million for this building in cash! That's a lot nickels and dimes back in his day.
