Harlem is one of the most popular stops on tours that visit NYC. It's a long way uptown, but it's worth it. On today's photo tour you'll see a few of the reasons so many people are making their way uptown to Harlem.
Top right picture you see some of the pretty townhouses of Strivers Row in Harlem. These elegant brick houses on West 139th Street are named after the prominent middle class African-Americans who moved in during the 1920's.
Center right picture you see the famous Apollo Theatre on 125th Street in Harlem. Wednesday Amateur Night still attracts the wanna-be famous. If you want a evening of good music, then get tickets to "Harlem Song".
You'll see a lot of famous names on the street signs too. Bottom right picture you see the corner of Lenox Ave & Malcolm X Blvd.
