Top right picture you see one of the walls from Tower 1 remaining after the disaster. If you look closely you'll see men in the center of the debris searching for victims.
Second photo down on the right you see a close shot of an ambulance and the rescue workers. When victims were found, workers stopped and stood at attention as the remains were taken to an ambulance. This is the scene we watched on television for many months as our neighbors, firefighters and policemen were found. Funeral services were an everyday occurrence. Daily, the smoke still filled the air and pain filled our hearts.
Third picture down on the right you see a piece of the remains of the World Trade Center that stood for months. In the meantime, many New Yorkers lost not only friends and relatives, they lost their jobs.
Bottom right picture you see Union Square Park. Here, as well as all over the city, memorials went up for the victims. American flags went up on doors, windows and storefronts. Flags remain all over the city today. People from all over the world came to NYC to see the disaster site and take pictures of its aftermath. They still come today. Many people wrote to us and we thank all of you for your support. Day by day victims were found, debris was cleared, people grieved and we all tried to heal. Click here for the next page.
