The Village has a lot of history. Take a walk down any street and you'll see historical signs on buildings. You can read the names of famous people and the plays, poems and work they created while living in these buildings. You never know what spirits might be hovering on any streets.
Top right picture you see Jefferson Market. This was an old court house. This Victorian Gothic style building is now a NY Library.
Center right picture you see the Chelsea Hotel built in 1882. Many famous artists and playwrights have lived and worked in the Chelsea Hotel including Arthur Miller, Dylan Thomas, and Thomas Wolfe. The Chelsea Hotel is where Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols killed his girlfriend Nancy in room 100. More on the Chelsea Hotel next page.
