The Chrysler Building is the most beautiful skyscraper in the skyline of NYC. The steel arches of the Chrysler Building glimmer in the sunlight and glow in the nighttime illuminations.
Top right picture you see the very top of the Chrysler Building. The Chrysler Building was built in 1930. The pinnacle resembles a radiator cap from a 1930 Chrysler car. The various automotive decorative details can be seen in the setbacks under the spire including silver hood ornaments, stylized racing cars and the huge radiator cap gargoyles at the fourth level, modeled after a 1929 Chrysler.
Center right picture you see 42nd Street as seen from Tudor City. To the right you see the Chrysler Building. In the far distance (out of sight) is the Times Square area of NYC.
Bottom right picture was taken on the far east side of 42nd Street. You see the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Tudor City in the distance. The East River is a few blocks away. Click here for the next page on today's photo tour.
