Cool was born in Greenwich Village. The Village was home to cool people back in the days of Edgar Allen Poe and Mark Twain to the hipper days of Bob Dylan. Walk through Washington Square Park and you might see a movie star, a poet, a musician, writer, artist or the staff of Readio.
Top right picture you see the arches of Washington Square Park. Washington Square Park is surrounded by the campuses of New York University. Through the center of the arches is 5th Avenue. Before 1964, traffic drove through the park.
Center right picture you see Bleecker Street and the Back Fence nightclub. Bleecker Street is where most of the famous clubs are located.
