While you're in the area of the Empire State Building walk over to 29 East 36th Street and visit the Pierpont Morgan Library (top right picture.) This Italian Renaissance style building houses the collection of rare books, manuscripts, drawings, prints, and works of art assembled by J. P. Morgan.
Don't worry about getting a quick bite of food on the run either. Center right picture you see Fifth Avenue across the street from the Empire State Building. Of course if fast food isn't on your agenda you'll find plenty of nice restaurants around too.
Bottom right picture is another fun way to spend some time and money; walk over to the Manhattan Mall on West 33rd Street.
