Daily Photos for 11/07/01 : Washington Square Park, Greenwich Village, Grace Church
The Village of New York City has enjoyed the reputation for "cool" for many years. It's no wonder...the village is filled with famous nightclubs including places like The Blue Note, The Bottom Line and Sweet Basil to name only a few. The village is cool and so are its people.
Many of the buildings in the village are historical landmark buildings including Grace Church. Top right you see Grace Church at 802 Broadway at East 10th Street. This gorgeous Gothic Revival Episcopal Church was founded in 1808. It was built by the same architect that built St. Patrick's Cathedral.
Center right picture you see a motorcycle on Avenue A in the East Village near Tompkins Square Park. You'll notice the American flag in the window. It would be difficult to look one city block and not see an American flag. New Yorkers don't have a reputation for being fearful and they're proud to show their colors.
