Normal civilized humans will never understand the unthinkable acts of terrorists. We will always remember the victims that lost their lives that day. From my office window and rooftop in Greenwich Village I photographed the events that changed our city, our country, our world on September 11, 2001. The official mourning period has ended but our hearts are still broken, the smoke still fills the air and the tears still flow.
Top right you see the World Trade Towers and the event we will never forget.
Top left picture you see a beautiful lady dressed as the Statue of Liberty. We caught her in a moment of great thought. She was collecting money for the survivors and rescue workers.
Center right picture you see the Empire State Building on the morning after the terror. The golden glow of dawn and the peaceful calm on the East Side of New York City was a stark contrast to the billowing smoke in the other direction downtown.
