Daily Photos for 9/19/2001 : Twin Towers Terrorist Attack, World Trade Center
Top left picture you see the new skyline downtown. The black skyscraper to the left is the Millennium Hilton Hotel. If you look closely you will see a small church between the two skyscrapers, that is St. Paul's Chapel (closer picture to the right). St. Paul's was built in 1766 and the World Trade Center Towers once stood behind it. Today the tiny church that George Washington attended still stands.
Center right you see the Woolworth Building as seen from on the Brooklyn Bridge. In the past the World Trade Towers would have been competing in the skyline.
Bottom right picture you see Broadway. In the distance you can see the smoke. The Twin Towers are missing in the horizon as if they have been amputated from our lives. Click here for the next page on today's photo tour.
