New York's downtown area is also the southern tip of the island of Manhattan. The area might be small but it's the home of the financial district of the world.
Top left picture you see people walking across the Brooklyn Bridge with the skyline of New York City in the background. You see the World Trade Towers in the distance. We highly recommend taking this walk for beautiful views of the city.
Top right picture you see the New York Stock Exchange.
Center right picture you see City Hall. This is where the mayor works and most of the ticker tape parades end here in big ceremonies.
Bottom right picture you see Pier 17 and South Street Seaport as seen from the Brooklyn Bridge. The walk over the bridge is very safe. You'll see parents with strollers and people biking and skating.
