Living in Greenwich Village is different from any other area of the city. You can 'dress down' here. Greenwich Village residents are a diverse group. You'll meet NYU students, artists, musicians, writers, poets and some business people. In the past the village was known for the hippies, now it's the hip hops and whatever is new and cool today.
Top left picture is MacDougal Café and the corner of Bleecker Street. Hanging out in coffee houses is very much in style, add some poetry and you might be there for hours.
Top right picture is Jefferson Market Library. Once a court house today it's the hang out for intellectuals.
Center right photo is Grove Court and the pretty Federal houses of the 1850's.
Bottom right is a sight that follows you around the village, the Empire State Building as seen from 6th Avenue.
