Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday January 8th 2004 "I'm glad you're not posing for those stupid underwear advertisements," Jan said glancing at her husband across the bar in the kitchen of her Upper East Side mansion. Ilona the housekeeper was busy loading dishes into the dishwasher nearby. "Baby, I didn't promise you I won't do those ads one day in the future. It's just not in the cards right now. I have too much going on with my lingerie store anyway," he said regretting that he wasn't chosen for the job. "Well, I'm glad. I don't want my husband's picture on a billboard in the middle of Times Square. It's bad enough that you have that slinky lingerie store on Bleecker Street," she said adjusting the jacket to her designer suit as she prepared to leave and travel upstate for a business meeting. "You just don't want to share what you've got. Do you Baby?" he said patting her rear as she bent over to pick up her briefcase near the bar. "Honestly Skeeter," she said remembering how he'd kept her up late last night making up for their last several weeks of fighting. She had decided to rip up the separation papers her father had drawn up after the heated passion they shared once again this morning. "I think Ilona heard us this morning," Skeeter said watching the chubby housekeeper smile as her face reddened. "I have to go Skeeter, have a good day," Jan said walking to the front door to leave. "Take it easy Baby," he called out in his southern accent as she closed the front door. "Mr. Skeeter you be late for work today, no?" Ilona said turning to see Skeeter looking through the desk drawer nearby where Jan kept her phone numbers. "Oh, I called that salesgirl Amanda and she's opening the store for me today," Skeeter said taking a seat in a chair as he looked through papers and notebooks. "Oh, you and Miss Amanda friends now?" Ilona asked knowing Skeeter had fired her once because she's gay. "You know I don't care what she does in her bedroom as long as she doesn't interfere with me in mine," he said opening Jan's address book and looking through the pages. "What you look for?" Ilona asked watching him closely and admiring his body as he sat dressed only in briefs. "That woman Lola Rogers, I want her phone number. Here it is," he said picking up a pencil and jotting it down. "You know Miss Lola?" she asked. "No, but I'm going to know her soon," he said folding the piece of paper and walking back towards the bar. "You know her?" he asked grinning when he noticed her eyes on the bulge in his briefs. "Yes she and Mr. Morgan friends a few years ago," Ilona said as her face reddened and she looked back towards the dishwasher. "She's a looker too," Skeeter said opening the newspaper and looking at the picture of the beautiful woman. "She get in scandal with doorman," Ilona said. "I see that. That lucky doorman got the job modeling underwear for the marketing company. That's the job they were going to offer me until they saw him with her," Skeeter said. "But Miss Jan happy you no model. This for best, no?" "Not for me. It might make Jan happy for a little while, but I'm not happy at all," he said taking a final sip of his coffee. "You call Miss Lola?" "Maybe, and I plan to meet her too," he said watching for her reaction. "You go and meet Miss Lola today?" Ilona said surprised at his scheme. "Yeah, but don't you tell Jan. It's between you and me Baby. I know you can keep secrets can't you?" "Oh yes. I never say word you tell me," she said seriously. "I knew I could count on you Ilona," he said smiling as he turned and walked towards the stairs to go up and get dressed. "If Jan calls today just tell her I went out shopping around town checking prices in my competitor's stores. That'll cover a lot of time," he said. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
