Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday January 1st 2004 Tiffany pushed the covers from around her neck and sat up in the bed when she heard the phone ringing. She glanced at the caller ID and saw "Stanley Morgan" on the caller ID and knew it was her sister Starlene calling from her wealthy lover's Upper East Side mansion. "Hello," she answered. "Were you still asleep?" her sister Starlene asked. "No." "I wish you had come with Stanley and me to the party last night," Starlene said. "Was it fun?" "Yeah, it was great. Stanley had reserved the entire restaurant for a few of his best friends." "That's great Starlene." "All of the men had seen my picture in Playbody and they wanted to pose with me," Starlene said giggling as she remembered the wealthy men lining up to wait for their opportunity to be photographed with the voluptuous blonde. "Did Stanley get jealous?" "No, he seemed really proud that I was his girlfriend. Their wives were jealous though. Not one of the women had anything to do with me." "I'm sorry." "Well, I'm not. The women don't buy Playbody Magazine, so I don't care." "It's great that it doesn't bother you." "Did Amir ever call you?" "No, I guess he was with his new lover over there on his island," Tiffany said referring to the news clip they had seen on TV of Amir and a strange young woman. "Why don't you call him?" "Starlene it's New Year's Day. If he loved me he would have been here with me last night. He didn't even call. I have to accept the fact it's probably over with us." "Oh come on Tiffany. You know how the press blows this kind of stuff out of proportion. Maybe this is an innocent friendship and they're making something of it." "Why didn't he call then?" "I don't know. Are you watching the New Year's predictions on TV now?" "No, what channel?" Tiffany asked picking up her remote. "Thirty seven," Starlene said watching clips of some local politicians and two presidential candidates on the screen. Tiffany hit thirty-seven and turned up the volume as she watched the announcer put up a picture of a doorman in uniform on the screen. She turned up the volume quickly as she and Starlene watched together on the phone. "This might be the New Yorker to watch this year," the announcer said as the picture of a Park Avenue doorman filled the TV screen. "He's good looking isn't he?" Starlene asked. "Yeah, he sure is," Tiffany agreed in a hushed voice as they watched. The scene changed to a picture of Lola Rogers the daughter of Mimi Rogers the legendary singer of the forties era. The announcers came back on the screen and began to talk as both women turned up the volume. "The doorman of this Park Avenue apartment building was caught in the bedroom with Lola Rogers a couple of days ago. The scandal has been growing. It's been reported by reliable sources that the affair has embarrassed Lola, the wealthy socialite. However, the scandal has certainly been a career builder for the lowly doorman. He's been contacted by a marketing company and is said to be considering posing for a line of men's boxer shorts. Looks like Lola's doorman will be doing more than opening doors this year!" the announcer said as a commercial came on for a Broadway show. "Wow, he's really cute. That's the same kind of offer Skeeter got. I bet he wishes they had put him on the predictions for the New Year," Starlene said. "Maybe he and Skeeter will model together," Tiffany said laughing as she thought about her ex-husband. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
