Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday December 29th 2003 Skeeter looked up when he heard the front door of his lingerie store open. "Skeeter are you here?" Starlene called out as she walked past the rack of red holiday thongs on sale. "Back here Baby," he said getting up from his desk and walking towards the front of the store. "It's a surprise to see you here," he said smiling at his ex-sister-in-law. "I came by to see Tiffany but I guess she went out shopping or something," she said referring to her sister that lives in the apartment above his store. "Have a seat Baby," he said watching her take off her coat and toss it on a chair. "Okay. I just thought I'd stop in. Maybe I'll buy something new to entice Stanley for New Year's," she said glancing around. "Okay, we'll find you something before you leave. The old man having some problems in that territory?" he asked raising his eyebrows. "Well, sometimes. You know Stanley is getting older," she said referring to his wife Jan's father. "He still handing you the dough?" "Oh yeah. Stanley's very generous," she said smiling. "Stanley did tell me that you and Jan were having some problems." "Oh he told you, huh?" "Yeah, it was kinda hard to believe. Something about you doing underwear ads." "That's right. This marketing guy came by the store right before Christmas. They saw all the publicity about "Next to Nothing," he said referring to his lingerie store. "That's great Skeeter." "Yeah, then he said they might want to do some ads using me. I'll be posing in my briefs for magazines and maybe even a billboard in Times Square!" he said proudly. "Oh wow! That's so cool Skeeter. I wish I could get a billboard in Times Square," she said thinking how much publicity that would get. "Yeah, I'm psyched about it, but Jan is really mad." "What a bummer. Well, she'll get over it." "I don't know. She said if I do it she'll divorce me." "Do you care Skeeter?" "Well, I don't know. You know me," he said thoughtfully. "It might be better for you. I mean you could enjoy yourself a lot more." "I know. I've been thinking about that. What did her old man say about it?" he asked referring to Stanley. "He just laughed about it a lot. Then he said he hoped she would divorce you," she said remembering how he had reacted when he told her about the situation. "Oh he did, huh?" "Yeah. Well, Skeeter that's not news to you, you know he doesn't like you." "Yeah, but I don't want to play right into his hand either." "You have to look out for yourself." "That's true. I have to figure out first how much this might cost me monetarily," he said clearly concerned. "Yeah, I can't blame you for that." "Look Baby, maybe you could help me out a little with this." "How's that Skeeter?' "Maybe you could kinda feel the old man out. See if he knows how much Jan's got. Cause she won't let me near the records of her money." "I don't know if Stanley would tell me or not," she said thinking it over. "Look at this little number," he said picking up a sheer nightie and holding it up for her to see. "That's cool," she said smiling. "I bet if you put this on and walk around in front of him for a while, he'd tell you," Skeeter said. "Probably," she said smiling. "Here, take this. It's on the house. I'd be indebted to you Starlene. You know I've never let you down. Now have I Baby?" he asked winking at her. "Nope." "I helped you get that job modeling for Playbody too. If I hadn't asked you to model for the ads for my new store that never would have happened. Right?" "Yeah." "Well?" he asked handing her the outfit. "We'll see what Stanley tells me," she said opening her purse and putting the nightie inside. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
