Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday December 25th 2003 "Ilona did you bake anything special for breakfast?" Jan asked as she stood in the doorway of the kitchen in her Upper East Side Mansion. "Yes I make for you coffee cake," the plump housekeeper said in her broken English. She turned to see her employer all made up and dressed in a red silk pants suit for Christmas Day. "Good, I'll have breakfast in the living room by the Christmas tree," Jan said turning to walk back into the living room. "Mr. Skeeter awake too?" the housekeeper asked referring to the handsome southerner. "He'll be down in a minute," Jan said walking into the living room and turning on the Christmas tree near the front window. She glanced at the gifts under the tree and wondered what was in the small package Skeeter had wrapped for her. "Hurry up Skeeter," she called out as she took a seat on the sofa. "I'm coming," he said as he came down the stairs wearing a silk robe. "You didn't get dressed yet?" she asked noticing he was wearing the robe she had given him for the first time. "No, I thought you'd like to see me in the robe," he said taking a seat beside her on the sofa. "It looks nice, but I thought you would have gotten dressed." "Why? We might decide to go back to bed after we open our presents," he said grinning as he raised an eyebrow. "Skeeter I told you that Father might stop by," Jan said irritated that he might interfere with her plans for the day. "He won't be over here until after lunch. We aren't going to be doin' it for that many hours... I don't guess," he said winking as Ilona placed a tray of cakes on the coffee table in front of them. "Oh stop it," Jan said ignoring him as she got up and walked to the Christmas tree. "Let's open the presents now," she said picking up two packages and walking back to take a seat beside him. "Here," she said handing him a package and holding the small one he had wrapped for her. "Thanks Baby," he said as he tore the paper from the small package. "Oh wow, look at this," he said opening a small jewelry box. "What's this?" he asked looking at the ring inside. "It's a new wedding band. You said the other one was too tight and you never wore it. Do you like it?" she asked. "It's kinda wide," he said. "Yeah, but you never wear the other one. I thought you'd like this one." "It's nice Baby. Open your present," he said placing his box on the coffee table with the ring inside. She quickly took the paper off the small box and opened it taking out a plain white small mailing envelope. "What could this be?" she said already disappointed that it wasn't a jewelry box. "It's really special. No one has ever given you anything like this Baby," he said winking at Ilona as she stood near the kitchen door watching. Jan took a picture from the envelope and glanced at it. "A Polaroid picture of you in your underwear Skeeter. What on earth do I want with this," she said tossing it on the coffee table and staring at him. "I'll autograph it for you Baby." "Why would I want you to do that? Surely you have another gift for me." "Yeah, take a look at that picture cause pretty soon, you're going to see an image of me just like that all over the city." "What are you talking about," she asked becoming annoyed. "I'm in line to be offered a job modeling underwear and my picture will be on bus backs, magazines and on billboards in Times Square!" he said getting up and opening his robe and putting his hands on his hips as he stood before her in his briefs. "You have to be kidding me," she said. "No. A marketing guy came by my lingerie store the other day. He'll be back after the holidays. They are serious Baby. Aren't you excited?" he asked worried about the frown on her face. "No. I can't believe you'd entertain the thought of something so ridiculous." "I can't believe you'd say that either. This is my dream come true," he said taking a seat on the sofa as his eyes narrowed. "It can't happen while you're married to me Skeeter. I have an image to uphold," she said as her heart raced. "Then maybe I don't need this," he said handing her the box with the wedding band. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
