Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday December 22nd 2003 Tiffany walked out of the front door of her building and started towards the curb to hail a cab when she heard her ex-husband calling her name. She turned to see Skeeter walking out of the door of his lingerie store on the ground floor of her apartment building. "Hey Baby, how you doing?" Skeeter asked reaching in his pocket for a cigarette. "Fine Skeeter and you?" she asked. "Great. You working today?" he asked noticing she was wearing jeans. "No, I took the day off to do my Christmas shopping." "Can you believe it's almost Christmas?" "Nope, another year gone," she said. "Remember those great Christmas trees we had when we lived together back in Georgia?" "Yeah. Look I better go," she said not wanting to reflect on the past with him. "Look why don't you come in the shop and look around," he said pointing towards the lingerie store behind them. "I don't think so Skeeter. I don't think Jan would like that," she said referring to his new wife. "She's gone upstate on a deal today." "What about that sales girl?" "She's off today," Skeeter said. "Oh?" "Yeah, come on in Baby. We don't open for another hour. I've got coffee all brewed and everything," he said nodding towards the store. "I don't know." "Come on, for old time's sake," he said grinning at her. "Just for one minute," she said as he unlocked the store and they walked in. "You haven't seen it since I opened have you?" "No," she said as she took off her coat and tossed it over the sofa. "It's nice huh?" "Yeah," she said noticing the sheer Mrs. Santa Claus outfits on the mannequins in the window. "Who would have ever thought we'd come to this point in our lives, huh?" he said pouring her a cup of coffee from the coffeepot on a small table in the back of the store. He walked towards the sofa where she was seated and handed her the coffee. "Thanks Skeeter," she said blowing on the hot brew before taking a sip. "How's life with you Tiffany?" "Fine," she said not wanting to discuss her love life. "You still seeing Amir?" "Yeah." "I thought you broke up with him to date that wealthy theater owner. What's his name?" "Brandon," she said putting the cup on the coffee table and leaning back on the sofa. "You going to marry one of them?" "No Skeeter. I don't think so and I don't want to discuss it with you either." "Well... I thought you came in so we could chat some." "I wanted to ask you a few questions," she said. "Shoot." "What were you and Vinny doing the other night?" she said referring to the mob related roughneck that has a crush on her sister Starlene. "What are you talking about?" "I was standing in my kitchen and looked down. I saw the two of you coming out of a room in the basement. What's down there?" "A little area for merchandise and stuff," he lied not wanting her to know it was his secret hideaway where he took girlfriends. "Oh," she said as they saw a man dressed in a suit knocking on the window of the lingerie store. "I better go. It looks like you have a friend here," she said standing up and putting on her coat. "I've never seen him before. Don't go," Skeeter said. "I'm sure I'll see you around," she said walking to the front of the store as Skeeter opened the door for her. "My I help you?" Skeeter asked the man as Tiffany walked out onto the sidewalk. "I'm with a marketing company, I wanted to speak with Skeeter Diamond," the man said. "That's me," Skeeter said. "I thought so. I've seen you on TV. Do you have a few minutes? I have a proposal that I think you'll like," the man said. Tiffany noticed that both men were looking at her so she quickly walked towards the curb to hail a cab. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
