Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday December 19th 2003 "It's me," Starlene called out as she knocked on the door of her sister's apartment. She heard Tiffany's footsteps coming towards the door. The door opened as Tiffany wiped her damp hands on an apron she was wearing. "I wondered where you were. What happened to your keys?" she asked referring to Starlene's extra set to her apartment. "I guess they are in my other purse," Starlene said closing the door and taking off her coat. "What's with the apron?" "I picked up some stuff and I'm making us dinner. Come on into the kitchen," Tiffany said as the sisters walked into the small kitchen in the back of the apartment. "Need some help?" Starlene asked taking a seat at the bar as she glanced through the mail Tiffany had tossed there. "No. I'm just making a salad for us," Tiffany said turning on the water in the sink and starting to wash lettuce. "This is fun coming over to your new apartment for dinner. Maybe one day I'll make dinner for us at Stanley's," Starlene said referring to her wealthy older lover's mansion. "Spare me, Starlene," Tiffany said glancing out of the back window into the garden below. "Well, I could always make his housekeeper cook for us," Starlene said as she opened a fashion magazine on the bar. "Yeah, that would be nice," Tiffany said as her eyes caught the sight of her ex-husband Skeeter's head in the garden. "I see Skeeter in the garden out there," Tiffany said leaning forward to see another man coming out of the basement door. "Oh really," Starlene said jumping up from the barstool and walking towards the sink. She didn't want her sister to know she had just come from the basement and the secret little hideaway Skeeter had invited her to. "Well, I'll be," Tiffany said turning off the water and leaning forward until her nose almost hit the window above her kitchen sink. "It looks like Vinny in the garden too," Tiffany said wiping her arm over the window as her breath steamed it up. "It does look like Vinny," Starlene said nonchalantly. Tiffany watched as the two men entered the backdoor of the lingerie store and it closed. "That was Vinny! Vinny was in the garden with Skeeter. They were in the basement!" Tiffany said shocked at the revelation. "Oh well," Starlene said walking back to the bar and picking up the magazine. "Oh well? Is that all you have to say. Come on let's see if they come out of the front door," Tiffany said drying her hands on her apron and quickly walking towards the front of the apartment. "Who cares?" Starlene said wishing Tiffany hadn't seen the men. "I do. Don't you?" Tiffany said waving for Starlene to hurry and join her. The two women stood in the living room looking out of the window watching a few minutes as college students walked past with multi-colored hair. "I'm so sick of that style aren't you?" Starlene said. "Yeah. Oh look! There they are," Tiffany said as the two women watched Vinny and Skeeter walk out into the cold evening air. Skeeter stopped and lit a cigarette offering one to Vinny. Vinny declined as the two men stood in front of Skeeter's lingerie store window. Starlene and Tiffany watched as Skeeter pointed to some of the lingerie in the window. Both men laughed as Vinny patted Skeeter on the back. Tiffany quietly opened the window of her living room so they could listen to the conversation on the sidewalk below. "Thanks for the drinks man. That's a great little set up you got down in the basement," Vinny said. "Hey, it was fun. Stop by anytime. Maybe next time you'll get lucky," Skeeter said smiling. "You got my number. Call if you ever need anything," Vinny said walking towards the curb to hail a cab. Skeeter walked towards the curb smoking his cigarette as he watched Vinny get into a cab. The cab sped away and Skeeter glanced up at the building towards Tiffany's apartment. Both women jumped back from the window hoping he hadn't seen them. "I wonder what Skeeter's got in the basement," Tiffany said as she watched Starlene hiding near the living room window. "Oh who knows," Starlene said not wanting her sister to know she had just been there with the men. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
