Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday December 1st 2003
Tiffany watched as the TV news crew unloaded equipment from the truck into Skeeter's lingerie store beneath her apartment.
"Starlene what do you think Skeeter meant when he said he was going to take care of Amanda while Jan was out of town?" Tiffany asked as she held her tiny cell phone to her ear.
"I'm not sure Tiffany."
"Well, if Jan hired Amanda to work in the store what can he do?" she asked referring to Skeeter's new wife.
"I don't know. Maybe he's going to make a pass at Amanda or something to find out if she's gay or not," Starlene said giggling at the thought of Skeeter making a pass at the masculine looking salesgirl his wife had hired.
"I bet he's going to fire her while Jan's out of town and there's nothing she can do," Tiffany said.
"I don't know. He just said he does think that Amanda is gay and he's going to handle it," Starlene said as she glanced at the TV screen in Stanley's living room. "Tiffany turn on the TV quick!" Starlene said grabbing the remote and turning up the volume.
Tiffany quickly walked to the TV in her bedroom and turned it on. "What... what channel? What is it?" Tiffany said hitting the channel button.
"Channel twenty seven... they are there at your apartment building," Starlene said taking a seat on the sofa and watching.
Tiffany quickly hit the button as the TV turned to channel twenty-seven. "I see it," Tiffany said glued to the screen.
"This is the scene where later today we'll be bringing you the grand opening of the hottest new store in New York City, right here on Bleecker Street," the news reporter said.
"You see it Tiffany?"
"Yeah, I see it," Tiffany said watching as Skeeter came on the screen.
"This is Skeeter Diamond the owner of the new lingerie store called "Next to Nothing", the reporter said putting his arm around Skeeter.
"Oh no," Tiffany moaned as she heard the name of her ex-husband's store for the first time.
"We'll be back in an hour with the opening ceremony and more about this new store on Bleecker Street," the announcer said as Skeeter waved the camera towards the window of his new store and the risqué lingerie.
"Oh no," Tiffany repeated.
"I think I'll come over there and spend the day with you Tiffany," Starlene said. "I can go shopping another day," she said picking up her coat from the sofa.
"That sounds like a good idea Starlene. Pick up some bagels on the way over and we'll have breakfast," Tiffany said. "Hurry and we'll watch this together on TV."
"See ya soon," Starlene said hanging up her phone. It immediately rang again. "Hello," she answered.
"Starlene, it's Skeeter how you doin' Baby," Skeeter asked.
"Good Skeeter. I just saw on TV that your new store is opening today."
"Yeah! You saw it huh?"
"Yeah, I sure did. That's a cool name you picked out for the store too," she said turning off the TV with the remote.
"Thanks Baby. Look are you busy today?"
"I was just on my way over to see Tiffany," she said buttoning her coat.
"Perfect," he said motioning for the TV crew and their cameras to the leopard skin thongs on the rack near the cash register.
