Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday November 27th 2003 Tiffany handed Amir a glass of wine and took a seat beside him on her sofa. "I'm so happy to see you," she said watching him take a sip of his wine before placing it on the coffee table. "I never want to how you say... interfere in your affairs," he said in his broken English. "I want to explain everything to you," she said nervously taking a sip of her wine and putting the glass on the coffee table. She glanced up to see him watching her. "I didn't invite Brandon as my date to the party," she said referring to several evenings ago. She had invited Amir as her date to her sister Starlene's dinner party. Her bosses' wife Nicole had invited her other lover Brandon. Brandon had become enraged and almost caused a scene. Amir had left the restaurant and hadn't called until yesterday. "I have no business to tell you how you live," he said continuing to watch her. "I want it to be your business Amir." "But you see this man, Brandon while I am gone," he said referring to the time he had spent on his island abroad. "Yes. I had been seeing him some. I mean you were always gone and I didn't know what would happen to our relationship," Tiffany said shaking her head in regret. She could only hope he'd never know how far the relationship with Brandon had gone in the past few months. "You have right for this," Amir said remembering how many months he had left her when his wife had been comatose. After his wife's death he had stayed on his island taking care of the estate. "No. I don't really think I had the right. I should have talked to you before I saw him." "I wish that you do this," Amir agreed. "What would you have said if I did?" "I have no right to tell you who you see. Or who you love," he said watching her closely. "So you would have just said for me to just go ahead?" "I have no way to know if you love him." "I don't." "He is very well known young man. He is single man, many women like him," Amir said remembering all of the newspaper articles he'd read about the younger man that had recently opened a new Broadway theater. "I don't love him Amir. I didn't invite him to the party. Nicole did that. She wanted to see us break up." "This is very evil thing," he said shaking his head. "She is evil, but I can't blame her for everything. It's my fault. I never should have gone out with Brandon." "Why you say this?" "Because I love you," she said trying to control her trembling voice. "You do?" "Yes Amir. I love you. It was a big mistake. I know you can probably never forgive me," she said as a tear rolled down her cheek. "I only want to hear you love me," he said putting his arm around her and pulling her closer. "I love you, I love you," she said as he kissed her damp cheeks. "No more we part," he said as his fingers combed through her long blonde hair. "I hope not. I've missed you so much," she said as her phone rang on the table beside the sofa. "You expect call?" he asked as the phone continued to ring. "I don't want to talk to anyone but you," she said wiping the tears from her cheeks as they listened to the answering machine pick up the phone. "Hello this is Tiffany. I'm not in or busy, leave a message," the tape on the answering machine said as they listened to the beep. "Hi Tiffany. It's me calling to tell you Happy Thanksgiving. Stanley and I are both so glad that Amir called and he's going to be with you today. We hope the two of you make up and get married by Christmas," her sister Starlene said stopping to giggle. "Oh by the way... when I left your apartment the other day I stopped downstairs at Skeeter's lingerie store. I got the scoop on his opening. The grand opening is tomorrow. Talk more later," Starlene said hanging up the phone. "Tomorrow," Tiffany said shaking her head thoughtfully. "By Christmas," Amir said smiling as he watched her quickly glance up at him. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
