Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday November 21st 2003 "Hey there Clark," Vinny said as he opened the door to Clark's townhouse on MacDougal Alley. "Hi Vinny," Clark said watching his wife's Mafia father's associate take off his black leather jacket and toss it on the sofa before taking a seat. "How's it goin?" Vinny asked taking a mint from the candy dish on the coffee table. He unwrapped it and tossed it into his mouth. "Oh it's pretty bad right now," Clark said thinking about the party last night. His secretary Tiffany had a date with Amir and his wife Nicole had invited Tiffany's other lover Brandon without Tiffany's knowledge. "I saw the newspaper there," Vinny said pointing to the tabloid newspaper on the coffee table with a picture of Tiffany and Brandon Douglas leaving the trendy Tribeca restaurant. "It's the worse thing that could have happened. Brandon called me and he's furious about this. He had scheduled a party for his new theater with me for the holidays. He called this morning and canceled. I needed that business," Clark said thinking how he had already spent the money before he made it. "That Douglas guy gives me the creeps," Vinny said. "He's a big important client," Clark said pacing the floor in front of Vinny. "He's a creep. He's young and rich and he thinks all the women are supposed to fall in love with him." "He's got a lot of money and he's well connected." "It don't matter to me how much money he's got." "Well, I'm trying to run a business here and Tiffany's has dated two of my clients and now they're both angry with me. I can't afford this," Clark said picking up his pace as he walked the hardwood floor. "It ain't her fault," Vinny said unwrapping another piece of candy and putting it into his mouth sucking it loudly. "I don't know how you can say that!" "Cause I know the facts here. I know its Nicole that did the arrangin' after she gave Tiffany the afternoon off to go shopping for a new dress." "You talked to her?" "No I talked to Starlene," he said as he remembered Starlene's voluptuous bosom in the low cut sweater as they sat together in the booth over coffee earlier today. "You're seeing Starlene?" Clark asked his voice in a hushed whisper. "I wish I was. I really wish I was. No, I just ran into the sisters over there," he said nodding across the street at the hotel were he was staying. "Oh. I was just thinking that would be all I need is for you to break up Starlene and Stanley. Then I'd lose my last client," Clark said referring to Starlene's older wealthy lover Stanley. "I wish that would happen too. I really wish that would happen," Vinny said. "Stop that Vinny. Don't talk that way. I don't have anymore clients. I need Stanley as my client." "Well never mind that old man. I'm here to tell you it ain't fair for you to be so hard on Tiffany about this. She ain't so stupid as to invite two men as her date to the party. She's smart enough to know that's romantic suicide." "You think so?" Clark asked as he stopped pacing and stood in front of Vinny. "Yeah, I know Nicki too. I think she set this all up so Tiffany would lose both lovers," Vinny said resting his big arm over the back of the sofa. "Why though?" "She ain't ever forgiven you for that affair you had with that woman Alexis after she left you and moved back to Florida." "She left me though," Clark said defensively. "I know that. But she ain't about to forget it." "But why do something like this?" "It hurt everybody didn't it?" "Yeah I guess it did," Clark said stopping to rub his forehead as he thought it over. "You might lose your customers and then you'll need her and her father's business even more... am I right?" "Yeah." "If you fire Tiffany then you won't even have a secretary... Nicole will be doing all the paperwork." "Yeah, you're right Vinny." "Tiffany will have lost that Brandon guy and her man Amir," he said opening another piece of candy. "You're absolutely right." "You know women's gots their ways. A woman like Tiffany will get either man she really wants." "Yeah, I think you're right," Clark said remembering how Nicole had seduced him easily this morning after the turmoil she had caused. "You can cut your losses here... get Tiffany back," Vinny said sucking on the candy as he leaned back on the sofa and twisted the gold chain on his neck. CONTINUED MONDAY. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
