Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday October 30th 2003
"Morning Amanda," Skeeter said as his new salesgirl walked into the lingerie store that he was preparing to open.
"Good morning Skeeter," she said taking off her jacket and tossing it on one of the boxes near the front door.
"Want some coffee before we get started?" he asked.
"No, it makes me nervous," she said starting to open a box marked "Thongs Extra Small".
"Okay.  You know Amanda I was wondering if you'd do me a favor?" Skeeter asked walking towards the front of the store.
"Sure, what?"'
"You want to try on some of the merchandise so I can see how it looks on?"
"I don't think this is the kind of stuff I would ever wear," she said picking up a hanger with a French maid's outfit attached.
"Oh sure.  Every salesgirl I've ever employed tries on the merchandise," he said trying to envision the short haired, flat-chested woman in the uniform.
"Your wife Jan never mentioned anything like that when she hired me," she said looking him straight in the eye.
"Okay, if you don't want to then that's fine," he said worried she would tell Jan about his request.
The door opened and a young NYU student walked in with her backpack stuffed with books.  "Is this store open yet?" she asked looking around at the boxes.
"No we aren't yet," Amanda said smiling.
"I wish you were.  I really like that teddy in the window," she said pointing behind her at the storefront.
"I guess we could sell you that teddy," Skeeter said walking towards the front of the store.
"Oh great. Would you mind if I try it on?"
"We don't have a dressing room ready yet," Skeeter said.
"She can try it on behind these boxes," Amanda said pointing to a large stack of boxes along the side of the wall.
"Sure, that's fine," the girl said.
"Here," Amanda said taking another identical teddy from a rack and handing it to the girl as she followed her to the boxes.
Skeeter stood on the other side of the boxes and waited for the two women to come back out where he was standing in the store.  He saw the girl's jeans get tossed onto the top of the boxes.
"Let me help you with that honey," Amanda said from behind the boxes.
"Wow you look great in that," Amanda said as Skeeter paced around towards the other side of the box hoping to find a place to catch a glimpse.
"You think it's too little?" the girl asked.
"If you want I can get you a larger size," Amanda offered.
"Okay, do that," the girl said.
"Okay, take that off," she instructed the girl. "Skeeter hand me the next larger size," Amanda said as she stuck her head out from behind the boxes.
Skeeter picked up the next size and walked towards the boxes.
"Thanks man," Amanda said winking at him as she took the teddy from him and quickly went back behind the boxes with the customer.
"Now that's it. Want me to adjust the straps a little?" Amanda asked.
"I like it.  I'll take it," the girl said.
"Great.  Just take it off and I'll have Skeeter wrap it up for you," she said as Skeeter listened.
"Here Skeeter, put this in a bag for her. I have to help her get dressed," Amanda said handing Skeeter the little teddy and dashing back behind the boxes.
"So have you ever been to the "Gals Okay Corral?"  Skeeter heard Amanda ask the girl.
"Yeah, I've been there," the girl said as she zipped up her jeans.
"Meet me there tonight and I'll buy you a drink," Amanda said as Skeeter paced back and forth on the other side of the boxes.
