Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday October 16th 2003 Tiffany rushed towards her cell phone on the coffee table of her apartment overlooking Bleecker Street. "Hello," she answered as she took a seat on her sofa. "It's me," her sister Starlene said eagerly. "Yeah, what did you find out?" Tiffany asked referring to their spying this morning. Starlene had been visiting when they looked out of the window and spotted Tiffany's ex-husband Skeeter on the sidewalk below with a strange red haired woman. "Well, her name is Cynthia. She's works with a rock and roll band. She and Skeeter have known each other a long time and they're definitely doin' it," Starlene said in her southern accent. "How do you know?" "She told me. She slept in the back of Skeeter's new lingerie store last night after her road trip was called off. Skeeter came over early this morning when Jan left for New Jersey." "Well I'll be. She told you all of this?" Tiffany asked. "Oh yeah. She even said they had a 'quickie' in the store," Starlene said repeating the woman's words from earlier this morning. "I can't believe she just told you all of that and she doesn't even know you." "She's seen the pictures of me in the ads for Skeeter's store," she said referring to the pictures of herself posing on a red velvet sofa wearing sheer lingerie. "Oh, so she's jealous of you?" "Yeah, I could tell. She wanted to be sure that I knew she and Skeeter were doing it." "I can't believe him," Tiffany said getting up from the sofa and walking across the living room floor with the phone. She stopped at her living room window to look down on Bleecker Street below. "He really does have his nerve." "I hope Jan catches him," Tiffany said referring to Skeeter's wife. "He hasn't hired anyone to work in the store yet either. I know Jan isn't going to let him open until he does." "Interesting." "Stanley told me that Jan is interviewing all of the women to pick out someone that she feels she can trust," Starlene said referring to her older lover and Jan's father. "Oh boy," Tiffany said watching a truck unload boxes of lingerie into Skeeter's new store below her apartment. "This is going to be the worst thing that ever happened to me yet," Tiffany said watching young women stop on the sidewalk and stare at the sexy lingerie in the storefront. "If it gets too bad you'll just have to break your lease and move out of the new apartment that's all," Starlene said leaning back on the sofa in Stanley's Upper East Side mansion. "Did Brandon ever call you?" she asked. "Yes he did. He called a few minutes after you left and you just aren't going to believe this," Tiffany said starting to pace the floor again. "What?" Starlene asked watching the housekeeper pick up her fashion magazines from the floor nearby. "He was upset with me about last night," she said referring to Brandon's Theater opening that they had attended. Brandon had told Tiffany he would have to be with show business people on the red carpet. Tiffany had been upset seeing him with the sexy woman on the red carpet and left the affair early. Brandon was seen on late night TV attending parties all over New York City with the scantily dressed woman on his arm. "Upset with you? How's that?" "He said that he looked all over the place for me and couldn't find me," Tiffany said repeating his words. "Do you believe that?" Starlene asked as she remembered Brandon's reputation as a playboy. "I don't know. I did leave before the opening last night. He seemed surprised that I didn't go to work today and that I had called in sick. He wanted to come by for a couple of hours before he flies back to California later today." "Is he going to take you to dinner or something?" "No. I told him I wasn't dressed that I'd been in my pajamas all day." "What did he say?" "'Perfect'," Tiffany said imitating the suggestive tone of his voice. "What did you tell him?" CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
