Thoroughly Modern Millie Opened April 18th 2002

It takes place in 1922 during the expansion of women's liberties and freedom. Lead role: Sutton Foster. The book was written by Richard Morris, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown". Direction by Michael Mayer; New Music: Jeanine Tesori; New Lyrics: Dick Scanlan. Choreography by Rob Ashford; Sutton Foster is "Millie". Featuring Sheryl Lee Ralph, Harriett Harris, Marc Kudisch, Gavin Creel, Angela Christian, Ken Leung, Francis Jue and Anne L. Nathan. Its World Premiere was in San Diego at La Jolla Playhouse on October 15th 2000. 2002 Tony Award : Best Musical, 2002 Tony Award : Best Leading Actress in a Musical (Sutton Foster), 2002 Tony Award : Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Harriett Harris), 2002 Tony Award : Best Costume Design (Martin Pakledinaz), 2002 Tony Award : Best Choreography (Rob Ashford), and 2002 Tony Award : Best Orchestrations (Doug Besterman & Ralph Burns).

Twentieth Century Previews Early 2004
American Airlines Theatre, 227 West 42nd Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue; Tickets, Call 212-719-1300; Roundabout Theatre Company, Artistic Director Todd Haimes, presents a new Broadway production. "Twentieth Century" is a new adaptation by Ken Ludwig of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's comedy. "Twentieth Century" is the funny story of Oscar Jaffe, a successful Broadway producer who has transformed a chorus girl, Lily Garland, into a star. As she rises to Hollywood, he downturns into bankruptcy. Oscar boards the Twentieth Century Limited train and bumps into her again, where he tries to convince her to return for another show.

Wonderful musical that has become the talk of the town. Book & Lyrics by Greg Kotis, Music & Lyrics by Mark Hollman, Directed by John Rando; Musical Staging: John Carrafa; Featuring Carolee Carmello as Penelope Pennywise, Luther Creek as Bobby Strong, Spencer Kayden as Little Sally, Jeff McCarthy as Officer Lockstock, Charles Shaughnessy as Caldwell B. Cladwell and Amy Spanger as Hope Cladwell.  The production also features David Beach, Rachel Coloff, Rick Crom, John Deyle, Victor W. Hawks, Ken Jennings, Stacie Morgain Lewis, Daniel Marcus, James Moye, Don Richard, Kristie Dale Sanders, Lawrence E. Street, Kay Walbye, Amanda Watkins and Kirsten Wyatt. The Violet Hour Previews October 16th; Opens November 6th 2003
The Biltmore Theatre, Tickets 261 West 47th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue. $51-$81; Tue - Sat 8 PM; Wed, Sat 2 PM; Sun 2 PM & 7 PM; No Wednesday Matinee until after December 2nd 2003; The Manhattan Theatre Club reopens Broadway's Biltmore Theatre with the New York premiere of the "The Violet Hour".  "The Violet Hour" is by Richard Greenberg. Director: Evan Yionoulis; Set Design: Christopher Barreca; Costume Design: Jane Greenwood; Lighting: Donald Holder; Sound: Darron L. West; Featuring Laura Benanti, Mario Cantone, Scott Foley, Jasmine Guy and Robert Sean Leonard. It is a story of a young publisher starting out in New York in 1919, and its associated conflicts that are brought to bear.

Wicked Previews October 7th; Opens October 30th 2003

Wonderful Town Previews November 5th; Opens November 23rd
Al Hirschfeld Theatre, Tickets 302 West 45th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue. A new production of the musical "Wonderful Town". Book by Joseph Fields and Jerome Chodorov. Music by Leonard Bernstein. Lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Director and Choreographer: Kathleen Marshall; Musical Director: Rob Fisher; With Donna Murphy as "Ruth". "Wonderful Town" originally opened at the Winter Garden Theatre on February 25th 1953 under the direction of George Abbott. The score includes "Ohio", "One Hundred Easy Ways", "A Quiet Girl", "It's Love", and "The Wrong Note Rag".
