Stanley asked extending his hand to his friend and the editor of Playbody Magazine. "Great Stan, and you," the grayed hair man asked walking into Stanley's office in the Empire State Building. "Can't complain. Won't do any good anyway," Stanley said as Joe took a seat in the chair in front of Stanley's mahogany desk. Stanley walked around the desk and took a seat in his plush leather office chair. "That's quite a view you got there," Joe said noticing the skyline of Manhattan from the large window behind Stanley's desk. "Yeah. I never get tired of it. I think it's one of the best views in the world," Stanley said with pride. "I might argue with you over that one Stanley. Where I work some of the views are much better," he said laughing. "Oh yeah! I loved the last issue. That centerfold from Russia was one of the best looking women you've ever featured." "You saw that, huh?" "Oh yeah, I've got them all," Stanley said pulling open the bottom drawer of his desk and taking out a stack of the gentlemen's magazines then putting them back and closing the drawer as his secretary walked down the hallway. "Glad to see we're still getting your money every month." "Are sales down?" "Oh no, quit the contrary. Sales are up. Maybe men aren't going on big vacations as much these days, so they're taking visualization trips." "That's great. Glad the bad economy hasn't effected you. You want to go out for a few drinks?" Stanley asked referring to their prior plans. "I don't have as much time as I had expected," he said glancing at his watch. "I'm meeting with one of the new centerfolds tonight." "Lucky man. You are the luckiest man I know," Stanley said trying to imagine what he'd do in those circumstances. He stopped himself when he realized he was becoming too aroused by the thought. "One of my freelance photographers showed me some very interesting pictures the other day," he said watching Stanley's face closely. "Oh?" Stanley said hoping he had brought them with him and he would share. "It was this really well endowed blonde with a very unusual name." "I hope you have the pictures with you so that I can see them," Stanley said thinking how he'd brag to his associates about seeing the photos before they were published. "You've seen them my man." "What?" Stanley asked. "Yeah, he had some shots of Starlene. He might be wrong about this but he thought you were seeing this young lady. I told him I knew you and would find out." "Oh! Yes, I'm seeing her. You saw those shots?" Stanley asked remembering how Starlene looked posed on the red velvet sofa in Skeeter's store. "Yeah. He said he took them for an ad for this new lingerie store that's opening in the Village." "Yes." "He said that your daughter is married to this guy that's opening the store," Joe said raising his eyebrows as if he wanted Stanley to tell him this couldn't be true. "Yes that's true," Stanley said as his jaw tightened. "Oh well," he said shrugging his shoulders. I didn't come here to talk to you about him, but about her." "What about her?" "We'd like to use a couple of these pictures in our next issue," the editor said. "I don't know... I didn't really want her to do this." "We'll be doing a write up about her. I mean a little story about how she came from the back woods of the Appalachian Mountains and met one of New York City's most eligible, wealthy bachelors," he said watching Stanley's face light up.
