Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday October 1st 2003
"Oh wow look at this one", Skeeter said pointing to the photograph of Starlene stretched out on the red velvet sofa in the back of his store.
"I told you she's a natural. That girl has a body that just won't stop," the photographer said.
"Do you think the editors of Playbody will hire her?" Skeeter asked.
"I think so.  I'll sure pass the pictures along," the photographer said.  "You know Skeeter it's not any of my business…" he said stopping himself and looking into Skeeter's eyes.
"What?" Skeeter asked glancing back and forth between him and the risqué pictures of his ex-sister-in-law Starlene.
"This is a very strange set up here," the photographer said glancing around the lingerie store.
"You don't like the store?"
'No.  I mean your sister in law working for you in the store."
"Oh that's just until my wife Jan calms down a little about everything."
"What's she so jealous about? I can't believe we had to secretly arrange for you to see the proofs so she wouldn't be around."
"I hope she'll get over it sooner or later.  She's just jealous because my ex-wife lives upstairs over the store.  She just puts up with Starlene because Starlene is her father's lover.  That's the only reason.  I don't know if that's going to work out either.  I mean I had to promise Starlene that she could model for the advertising before she'd agree to work here. Then after the other night with the photo session, Jan's jealousy was working overtime. Starlene's so good looking Jan doesn't trust that either."
"I know you love your wife and everything, but..."
"Look man.  Jan and I are married, but it ain't exactly bliss."
"You have got to get her out of your hair or you can't run a successful business here.  I mean is she going to hang around all the time once you open the store?"
"She works with her father in real estate, but I don't know. She has way too much free time to watch over me."
"So that's why Starlene is in the picture?" the photographer asked starting to get the idea how all of this happened.
"That's right. Jan's worried about the women coming into the store too. She doesn't want me in the dressing room helping them."
"I know it's not any of my business."
"What?  Go ahead. Man, I'm sick of all of this hassle already."
"Maybe you should hire an ugly woman to work for you."
"Ugly?" Skeeter asked frowning.
"Yeah.  Then Jan wouldn't come around the store so much.  She's probably worried about Starlene too. I mean look how she was the other night when we took the pictures. Jan wouldn't even allow you behind the screen to watch the photo shoot.  We had to change the time to view the proofs so that she wouldn't be here.  You can't operate like this.  Or at least you'll never have any fun with your wife hanging around."
"You're right about that.  But an ugly woman?" Skeeter asked trying to imagine that.
"Well, maybe a woman that isn't so attractive or something like that.  Someone that Jan would feel more comfortable leaving you alone with."
"I don't know of anyone like that though."
"Just a thought man.  Cause I feel sorry for you.  Oh look," he said pointing towards the window.  "Here comes Jan," he said as he watched Skeeter put the proofs into an envelope.
"Here", Skeeter said handing the photographer proofs of Starlene without lingerie.  "Give these to Starlene when you see her today.  I don't want Jan to ever know you took them or that I saw them either.  She'd kill Starlene and me both," he said as the photographer put the second envelope into his coat pocket.
