Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday September 24th 2003
"Morning Tiffany," Clark said walking towards her desk in the townhouse where he runs his party planning business.
"Morning Clark.  I wondered if I can get off a little early today?" she asked closing her appointment book on her desk.
"I guess. We don't have anything going on today.  What's up?"
"The movers are coming to take my stuff to the new apartment."
"How exciting."
"I don't know about that," she said shaking her head in dismay.
"What's the matter Tiffany?"
"It's everything really.  I mean I signed the lease on the new apartment then found out that Skeeter is opening a lingerie store on the first floor of the same building."
"Oh wow.  I can see why that would be bothersome," he said taking a seat in the chair in front of her desk.
"Then I just found out last night that Starlene is going to work in the lingerie store."
"Why?"
"Because Jan is so jealous of me and Skeeter.  Jan's worried about Skeeter making passes at other women."
"But how does Starlene working in the store help?"
"Jan doesn't want Skeeter going into dressing rooms helping women with the lingerie."
"Oh yeah, I see," Clark said tapping his fingers on her desk.
"And besides, Jan doesn't trust Skeeter with a salesclerk. Since Starlene is her Father's lover, she thinks Starlene is the only one that's safe."
"You think she's right?"
"I think it's her problem."
"No. I mean do you think Skeeter wouldn't make a pass at Starlene?"
"Of course not.  He's been around my sister for years," she said wondering.
"Then why worry about it?"
"I just don't like it.  I wanted Skeeter out of my life."
"I can understand that," he said thoughtfully.
"How are you and Nicole doing?"
"Awful, terrible."
"She hasn't forgiven you for Alexis?" she said referring to the woman Nicole caught him with after she had left him and moved back to Florida.
"No. She's so jealous of Alexis. Even though Alexis is gone, she won't drop it."
"Alexis
is gone?"'
"Yeah, she's gone to work for Nicole's father, you know?" he said referring to Nicole's father the mob boss in Florida.
"Where?"
"I don't know.  It's better that I don't know.  I want Nicki to get over this."
"I know it must be hard."
"I really think she's angry that her father hired Alexis.  I think that makes her madder than anything else."
"Did she tell her Father that she was angry about it?"
"Oh yeah. They have had a lot of fights over it.  But her father does what he wants.  He told her it was business and that's that."
"You and Nicole will be happy again one day Clark."
"I don't know. I wanted her back so badly.  I never thought she'd come home or I never would have gotten mixed up with Alexis. I guess a lot of it's my fault.  I was just so lonely," he said picking a piece of lint from his trousers.
"She'll soon forget about Alexis.  Don't you think?"
"Nope. I think she'll always throw it up to me."
"She's not an angel."
"Far from it.  I've really learned a lot. I guess I only have myself to blame for this mess I've made."
"Don't be so hard on yourself Clark."
The phone on the desk rang and Tiffany picked it up answering "Manhattan Party Planning."
"Is Tiffany Diamond there?" a man asked in a heavy Brooklyn accent.
"This is she".
"This is "Outta Boroughs Movers".  The truck is at your new apartment.  There's a man downstairs that says his truck has to unload lingerie first.  Just wanted you to know since we charge by the hour."
"I'll be right there," Tiffany said hanging up the phone. "Clark I have to go now.  It's starting.  The trouble with Skeeter has already started," she said grabbing her purse.
