Starlene called out as she closed the door to the apartment overlooking Washington Square Park. "In here," Tiffany said picking up the remote and turning down the TV. "How was your day? Did Clark give you time off to get moved?" Starlene asked walking into the living room carrying a shopping bag from Fifth Avenue. "Oh yes. He gave me off alright," Tiffany said sitting up on the sofa and watching her sister take a seat in the chair nearby. "What's the matter? You look miserable?" Starlene asked. "I've been laid off. I think." "Laid off? You think?" "Or fired, I'm not sure which," Tiffany said shaking her head. "Come on. Right after you sign a lease on a new apartment Clark lays you off. Couldn't he have told you this beforehand?" "He's got so much trouble he doesn't know what he's doing now." "Alexis is hard to handle huh?" Starlene said thinking the new woman that he was bringing in as a partner might be difficult. "Nicole came back and caught Alexis and him almost doing it," Tiffany said. "Uh!" Starlene gasped as her hand flew up to her mouth. "Yeah, Alexis was almost totally undressed when she and Clark walked into the bedroom and found Nicole just out of the shower." "Oh wow! I can just see that now! Was Clark undressed too?" she asked trying to visualize the scene more clearly. "No he was dressed. He was the only one dressed. The two women went at it. Alexis left and Nicole stayed. She spent the night and reclaimed her territory." "Shocking! This is blockbuster!" Starlene said shaking her head. "Oh yeah. It's a bank buster too. Now I don't have a job." "Well, how did that happen?" "When I asked for a day off to move, he said go ahead and take a lot of days off. He said he had to have time to get his life back together." "Well, he'll let you come back to work. He needs you." "No he doesn't. He didn't have much business. That's why he hired Alexis to bring him business." "Well, are you going to move into the apartment or not?" "I don't know what to do now. I signed the lease, so I guess I have to," Tiffany said. "Did you tell Amir that you were moving out of his apartment?" "Not yet," Tiffany said. "He's still on his island and I haven't talked to him in a few days." "Call him." "What will I say? That I was leaving his apartment because he's neglected me and I wanted to find another lover?" "Tell him you thought he'd found another lover since he's never in New York City anymore." "But I don't think he has. He's just busy with his deceased wife's estate, that's all." "I know that!" Starlene said waving her hand at her sister. "But when he assures you that's not the case then you tell him that's what you thought. You tell him that you made a big mistake and signed the lease on another apartment and now you don't have a job," Starlene said proud of her plan. "But what is he supposed to do?" "Pay for everything of course," she said frowning at how slow her sister caught on. "I can't do that!" "Whatever. But that's what I would do. Want to see the pretty clothes I bought with the new credit card Stanley gave me?" she asked picking up her shopping bag from the floor. CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
