Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday August 27th 2003
"Boy there really is a lot going on in our lives lately," Starlene said as she watched her sister look for the key to the new apartment she had signed a lease on earlier today.
"Yeah, it's really amazing. Here I'm getting a new apartment, you moved in with Stanley and then there's the thing with Clark," Tiffany said. She raised her eyebrows thinking about the sudden hot romance Clark had with the older woman Alexis.  He interviewed her to bring into his business as a partner.  He went to her house for dinner and after too many drinks things went way too far.  Now he's on his way over to her house to help her pack up to move in with him.
"I think the news about him is totally astonishing," Starlene said as the front door of the townhouse opened.
"Hi," Nicole said smiling broadly.
"Nicole!" Tiffany said in disbelief as she watched her bosses estranged wife close the door and walk into the living room.
"Hi Starlene.  I guess both of you are surprised to see me here," she said glancing around the room to see everything still in place.
"You just missed Clark," Tiffany said.
"Where did he go?" Nicole asked taking a seat on the sofa and allowing her short skirt to rise up high on her suntanned legs.
"I'm not sure," Tiffany lied.
"Well, I can wait a while."
"How is Florida?" Starlene asked.
"Same old thing.  I got sick of it. My Father started telling me what to do the minute I got back," she said picking up a travel magazine from the coffee table.
"He'll get used to the fact you don't like that," Tiffany said watching Nicole closely.
"No he won't.  I'm not going to put up with him anymore. I've left Florida and I might not ever go back," she said flipping through the magazine.
"You're kidding?" Starlene said glancing towards Tiffany.
"No. Why would I be kidding? I tried it and I hated it.  I'm moving back to New York," she said tossing the magazine back onto the coffee table.
"Wow.  Does Clark know?" Tiffany asked.
"No. I'm going to tell him tonight. I want to pick up some stuff that I left here once I get my own apartment."
"Oh.  Well, I guess you better tell Clark," Tiffany said with concern in her voice.
"He'll be thrilled I'm sure.  I just don't want him to get any ideas that I'm coming back to him."
"Yeah," Tiffany said thoughtfully.
"What's the matter?  Is Clark okay?" Nicole asked getting up and walking towards the stairs.
"He's fine."
"I'm going up and see if I can find a few of the things I left," Nicole said starting up the stairs.
"Well, I was getting ready to leave for the day," Tiffany said glancing at her watch.
"Go ahead. If the phone rings I remember how to answer it," Nicole said pausing on the stairs.
"That's okay. I'll wait until Clark gets back," Tiffany said thinking she better try to call her boss and warn him before he came back with Alexis.
"Go!  I said I'll be here to take care of anything."
"Are you going to stay here until Clark comes back?" Tiffany asked.
"Tiffany I'm still Clark's wife.  Remember that we aren't divorced yet.  I can certainly handle answering his phone."
"Well, okay if you insist," Tiffany said picking up the keys to her new apartment from the desk.
"Besides I need some time alone with him so we can discuss the divorce," Nicole said as she reached the top of the stairs.
Tiffany and Starlene listened to Nicole's footsteps as she walked into Clark's upstairs office.
"Maybe we better get out of here before all hell breaks loose," Starlene said.
"It could break loose any minute too.  It's possible Alexis has already left something upstairs and Nicole might find it," Tiffany said grabbing her purse from the desk and getting ready to leave.
"I can't believe it!" they heard Nicole call out from Clark's office.
