Do you want me to cook dinner for you tonight? Or we could go out," Alexis asked as she stood in the doorway of Clark's townhouse. "We'll go out," Clark said smiling as she kissed him lightly on the cheek and waved goodbye. He closed the door and turned slowly to walk back into the living room where Tiffany was seated at her desk. "I guess you're really surprised by the news," he said taking a seat in the chair near Tiffany's desk. They both watched through the living room window as Alexis made her way over the cobblestones towards the gate of the mews. "Very surprised actually," Tiffany admitted. "I was going to tell you after she left, but she wanted to see how you took the news," Clark said as he picked a piece of lint from his trousers. "I'm shocked. I thought you might offer her a partnership in your business but I didn't really think she'd move in with you," Tiffany said. "Well, it all happened very fast." "She is a very attractive older woman," Tiffany said regretting the reference to her age immediately. "You think she's too old for me?" "No. It's not that at all." "She's very beautiful," Clark said defensively. "Yes, she's gorgeous." "I'll be honest. I never planned for things to go so fast." "How did it happen Clark? I mean I thought you were interviewing for a partner in your business and now you're almost married again," Tiffany said watching his face redden at the truth. "Remember I accepted her invitation to dinner at her house?" "Yeah," she said nodding. "We had a beautiful dinner. She cooked everything herself. Her house is perfectly decorated. It looks like something out of a magazine," he said remembering the evening with Alexis. "I know you told me." "Well, we had dinner by candlelight. Then we went into the garden. We started talking and having drinks. She told me all about her husbands and how hurt she was after their divorce. I started telling her all about Nicole," he said as tears started to well up in his eyes. "I can see how painful that must have been," Tiffany said watching him closely. "We had more drinks. Then more drinks," he said turning his head to look out of the window to avoid her eyes. "Oh," Tiffany said knowingly. "The next thing I knew I woke up in her bed the next morning," he admitted. "That kind of thing happens sometimes," she said as she watched him shake his head. "Yeah, but I stayed. I mean I've been so lonely. You know Nicole wasn't much of a wife to me the last few weeks before she left." "It's okay Clark." "I don't know." "Well, do you like Alexis?" "Yeah, I guess so," he said. "Well, you don't have to let her move in with you just because you slept with her," Tiffany said. "You don't understand Tiffany. Alexis is very wealthy," Clark said as his eyes widened. "Is that the only reason you're letting her move in?" "No. I mean I signed the papers for the partnership that night when I'd been drinking. It's just too late now," he said getting up from the chair and walking towards the stairs to go up to his office CONTINUED TOMORROW. MORE SOAP PHOTOS BELOW.
